EWAN MCGREGOR AND NAOMI WATTS IN "THE IMPOSSIBLE"

Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts are set to star in Summit Entertainment's thriller "The Impossible", the English-language directing debut of Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona ("The Orphanage"). The movie will be based on a true story set during the 2004 catastrophic tsunami in Thailand, which was triggered by a massive earthquake in the Indian Ocean after which hundreds of thousands of people were killed along the coast of countries including Thailand, Sri Lanka and India as the giant wave destroyed massive parts of populated areas. The movie will start shooting this summer in Spain, and later on in Thailand as well.

  1. Naomi's pulling back up in my poll, almost tied with Harrison Ford again for the next film marathon... I know how much you love her ;)

  2. Good cast. They'll put off what is required for a film such as this.

  3. Answer, you know how much I "love" all of your favourite actors and actresses :PPP

  5. I love Ewan & Naomi, what a great couple they'd be on-screen. If I were to make another Top Ten On-Screen Couple Wish-List (like this one http://wp.me/pxXPC-6e), they'd made the list. But yeah, that's a tough subject but intriguing nonetheless.

Btw, I just added you to my blog roll, sorry I've been meaning to do that for ages!

  7. I would personally like to see Ewan in a movie with one of the C/Kates - Winslet or Blanchett :)

I thought you don't like those blog roll things so I took you off mine yesterday, after more than a month in it, but I'll put you back :)

  9. Dez, sorry more of my movie buffs don't stroll over here to your blog. I do have them! Ironically, I have very few science fiction readers following my blog. Not sure what's up with that, either.

  10. Well, most of people who leave comments are other bloggers, and yours are other writers as well, who like to write and read, but not necessarily follow your topic, which you've seen in their generic comments when you write something about sf or movies.
I love when someone puts my link in their posts, but it's true that I almost never get any new followers in that way. I guess writers don't really like movies that much, with the exception of a few brilliant ones which are present here and reading this :)))

  11. Dezmond,
Love movies, both old and new, but don't have a lot of time to see them.

There was a series about this event a few years ago. I'd rather see this movie due to Ewan!

  12. Hey, Nadir, we would also rather see pretty much anything with Ewan :)))

  13. I'd see anything Ewan did...And Naomi is pretty great, except for those teeth. Should be intersting to see how they tie in the tsunami.

  14. I love Ewan McGregor. I will definitely see that one. Yes, Naomi Watts has weird teeth. But so does Christian Bale and he's still hot...as long as he doesn't smile.

  15. yep, and it's not like we look at their teeth when we are staring at them :)))

  16. Ewan, loved him since Moulin Rouge...love that he's back with a vengeance these past few years! Such an infectious smile. Almost as much as Gerry's....

  17. MOULIN ROUGE is my favourite movie as well. I loved Ewan's acting and singing in it.

  18. He was fantastic in that! What a voice. I still listen to the soundtrack after almost 10 years! One of those movies that leaves a lasting impression...
