BREATHTAKING NEW IMAGES FROM "TRON LEGACY"
Guys over at Filmofilia have just released stunning new pics promoting the upcoming sf action "Tron Legacy". These breathtaking new images show a future disc game played in the film. Coming out to cinemas this December this 3D high-tech adventure set in a digital world follows Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), who is researching his father's disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin's loyal confidant (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.

Nice looking costumes. I would've preffered something with an open face though. Or at least a visor that's more transparent.
ReplyDeleteI guess this way makes it easier for animators and special effects people. (cheapskates...)
I still haven't seen anything that could impress me here. It looks too much like retouched 80s computer fiction. Yes, I know it's an 80s remake, but still...
Sleak costumes, clean lines, and streamlined architecture/styling can get too old too fast. :(
You need some entropy, diffusion in colors and lighting, and much more of unrestricted objects and shapes. Otherwise it looks too lifeless. :(
After last year's Avatar, Star Trek, or even Terminator and District 9, this new Tron looks a little dull and uninspired.
I really hope Tron has some good story to back it up.
I think the costumes looks a bit more scary and mysterious without the visor. I tried to imagine myself in such a costume, and almost got blinded by the imagined sight :)
ReplyDeleteUnless you are in great shape Dez, I'd rather not imagine you in one of those suits - thanks!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this flick.
I'd rather not imagine myself in those suits, either, Alex :)
ReplyDeleteI don't really remember Tron though I do remember the ad for it - it was at the beginning of a VHS that I used to watch a lot as a child. I guess I should see if I can watch it again before this one comes along.
ReplyDeleteA film to keep my eye out for I think.
ReplyDeleteI quite like the costume too :)
@Cassandra
ReplyDeleteas far as I remember, the old movie was very much boring, so maybe it would be better to avoid it :))
@Wendy
stunning costumes, yep? :)
Great pios Dez. You have now spoiled the movie for me! ;)
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to Tron Legacy with great anticipation. I actually liked the original movie, though maybe because I was such a fan of the video game. The new costumes look awesome. Great post, Dez!
ReplyDeleteI think this one will definitely have a lot of 3D-ous awesomeness in it.
ReplyDeleteCastor, Tgoette and Jaccsy, I'm glad these pictures got you hyped :) Although I think the whole movie could be a bit boring, I still believe it will give us some unforgettable visual delights and some ultra cool cyber world scenes.
ReplyDeleteDez, that is too damn cool - thanks for displaying my book cover!
ReplyDeleteAmazing costumes. I am so looking forward to this movie. My brother doesn't like the new outfits since they're not as "alien" as the original, but I like the modern sleek look. Best...sequel...ever!
ReplyDeleteAlex, I was happy and proud to display it even before you displayed it over at your blog a few weeks ago:)))
ReplyDeleteHey, Maurice, haven't seen you a while :) Yep, the costumes are really promising.
I'm mosty afraid that I'll need to watch original Tron first. It looks like Tron Legacy is a "true" sequel.
ReplyDeleteno, no, no, don't surrender to the dark powers, Bels :)))
ReplyDeleteUgh, looks so badass! Can't wait to check out this December.
ReplyDeleteHey, Bear, thanks for droppin' by :)
ReplyDeleteThis is actually one movie my Sam really wants to see...in the theater!! That's rare and I'm extremely excited to see it as well. Looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteWho is Sam? A hubby or a son? :) The movie sure looks visually stunning.
