ROMULUS EPIC SERIES
ON THE FOUNDER OF ROME
If you thought the year will end without a new historical series from Italy, you were wrong: ROMULUS ten episode epic TV saga started airing this
month over at Sky Italy and will arrive to other Sky channels around Europe and Now TV sometime next year. I've also heard that it will air for US audience next spring on HBO (it is already airing on some of HBO's local cable channels in Europe).

THE STORY OF ROMULUS
coming from Mattero Rovere (who first made Romulus and Remus movie a few years ago), is set in Lazio, 8th century BC, a primitive and brutal world in which the fate of everyone is decided by the implacable power
of nature and the gods. The thirty tribes of the Latin League have lived
for years under the leadership of the king of Alba, but drought and
famine threaten the peace and life of these cities. Outside of them the
forest, a dark
place inhabited by cruel and mysterious creatures.
Romulus is the story of this world through the eyes of three young
people marked by death, loneliness and
violence: Yemos, prince of Alba,
Wiros, a young orphan and slave and the young vestal Ilia. A story of
men and women who discover how to create a destiny instead of suffering
it. Romulus is the epic and hyper-realistic story of the genesis of
Rome, as it has never been told.
