Jessica Biel leads the cast as Chloe, who moves through the world with her handsome lawyer husband Adam (Corey Stoll) and teenage son Ethan (Maxwell Dono- van) by her side while her estranged sister Nicky (Elizabeth Banks) struggles to stay clean and hustles to make ends meet. When Adam is brutally murdered, the prime suspect sends shockwaves through the family, laying bare long-buried secrets. Directed by her daughter, Catalina Aguilar Mastretta, the series is set during the Mexican Revolution and follows Emilia Sauri, a woman torn between two passionate loves while navigating a world dominated by violence and revolution. It shows the political history of a country through the intimate life of Emilia Sauri, her family and her loves. The series tells the parallel story of the evolution of a country and Emilia's own growth. Renata Vaca will play Emilia, a woman who fights for her convictions, without renouncing her feelings. Juan Pablo Fuentes will give life to Daniel Cuenca, a revolutionary adventurer, and Ivan Amozurrutia will incarnate Dr. Antonio Zavalza, a doctor who seeks peace in the midst of civil conflict.

Two years ago I told you that  Benjamin Voisin will lead Apple TV's new French historical original series CAREME on the famous 19th century chef turned spy and now the popular streamer is ready to launch the show on April 30th.  Set in the 19th century, the eight episode series, directed by Martin Bourboulon who helmed The Three Musketeers, will follow the sprawling story of Antonin Carême, who rose from humble beginnings in Paris to the height of culinary stardom in Napoleon’s Europe. He not only became an iconic chef, he also became a spy for France as his talent and ambitions attracted the attention of powerful politicians, including Napoleon. The series will shed light on the miserable reality of 19th century kitchens, contrasting with the opulence of the mansions and sophisticated of aristocrats. Jérémie Renier will play Charles-Maurice de Talleyrand-Périgord, a Machiavellian diplomat who was minister of foreign affairs in the government of Napoleon Bonaparte; and Lyna Khoudri will appear as Henriette, Carême’s lover and most dangerous threat. The series is inspired by Ian Kelly book “Cooking for Kings: The Life of Antonin Carême – The First Celebrity Chef”!

Although the plot is still kept under wraps, new movie project from Cannes winner Asghar Farhadi PARALLEL TALES is set to have Virginie Efira, Vincent Cassel, Pierre Niney, Isabelle Huppert, Adam Bessa and Catherine Deneuve in the cast. The film is set for spring 2026 release. After shooting over a dozen movies in three years, Efira is coming back to the big screens. This July she will star in VIE PRIVEE with Jodie Foster about a renowned psychiatrist who mounts a private investigation into the death of one of her patients, whom she is convinced has been murdered.

Well, you know how much I love a good apocalyptic series and Netflix is giving us one next week so if you love a good action thriller set in an isolated or ravaged world mark your calendars for next weekend: based on the eponymous graphic novel by Héctor Germán Oesterheld and Francisco Solano López, the six episode live-action adaptation THE ETERNAUT arrives to Netflix April 30th as their new original series from Argentina with their star Ricardo Darin leading the cast.

 When a rare snow begins falling in Buenos Aires, it kills everything it touches in an instant leading to millions of deaths. Is it nuclear war or something even more sinister? Really could not imagine a better director for it: as Variety reports, Stephen Frears is set to direct THE ANARCHY epic series, an adaptation of William Dalrymple's book “The Anarchy: The Relentless Rise of the East India Company”, a historical epic which chronicles how back in the 18th century the East India Company, described as a dangerously unregulated start-up operating from a small London office, executed the takeover of the entire Indian subcontinent, which at the time constituted more than one-fourth of the world’s GDP.  The series will be shot in UK and Asia for Wiip global studios.

Netflix has ordered a limited TV series adaptation of Edith Wharton's famous novel THE AGE OF INNOCENCE with The White Queen and White Princess creator Emma Frost penning the show. In the 1870s, New York City, Newland Archer, a gentleman lawyer and heir to one of New York City’s wealthiest families, is overjoyed by his engagement to beautiful but sheltered May Welland. However, when May’s cousin, the Countess Ellen Olenska, arrives, Newland begins to question his choice of bride, as Ellen, who is in the middle of a scandalous divorce, challenges the status quo of New York’s upper society, while May represents the traditional values of Old New York. The shooting will start this Autumn in Europe.

After being sold in more than ten million copies around the world, Richard Osman's book series THURSDAY MURDER CLUB is being adapted into a movie to be directed by Chris Columbus and now we have first images with Helen Mirren, Celia Imrie, Pierce Brosnan and Ben Kingsley who lead the cast as three of the  four septuagenarian friends who live in a retirement community and solve cold cases for fun. When a shady property developer is found dead, the four find themselves in the middle of their first live crime. Variety reports that 14 studios fought for the movie rights on this one. David Tennant, Jonathan Pryce, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays and Henry Lloyd-Hughes also star in the movie which will hit Netflix August 28th.

 I informed you just a few weeks ago that ITV  has gathered quite an interesting cast for their new high end espionage series SECRET SERVICE with Gemma Arterton and Rafe Spall leading the cast alongside Mark Stanley, Alex Kingston and now we already have first images from the new drama. This five part drama follows senior MI6 officer Kate Henderson (Gemma Arterton). On the surface, her life appears ordinary, a civil servant married to Stuart (Rafe Spall) with two teenage children. However, to those who don’t know her well, Kate’s true role is heading the Russia Desk at the Secret Intelligence Service. When her undercover operations reveal alarming evidence that a high-ranking UK politician may be a Russian asset, Kate finds herself in a desperate race to uncover their identity. As a brutal murder thrusts her team into the spotlight, Kate must navigate the dangerous world of espionage while trying to hold her family together and protect her reputation. The series will air sometime next year.

Apple TV Plus is rounding up cast for their new heist series 12 12 12 which unfolds across three timelines of a heist: the 12 months of planning, the 12 hours of the heist, and the 12 days following the heist. The series follows a disgraced FBI agent (Anthony Mackie) and an American career criminal (Jamie Dornan) who play a zero-sum game of cat and mouse across Europe. At the center of it all is the daring, epic raid on a bank vault deep beneath the streets of Zurich. Jack Kesy will play Dornan's brother also involved in the heist according to Deadline.

Although their life has been already adapted a couple of times by BBC, famous Mitford sisters are getting a new period set series at UKTV's channel Drama and Britbox in USA and today we have new images as the series will start June 19th. The six part series OUTRAGEOUS will depict the British socialite sisters, whose antics in the 1930s made their family one of the most well known in the UK. Several infamously supported fascism and the Nazis, though two became staunch opponents of the ideology. Two became well known authors. It will be a story of family betrayals, public scandal, political extremism, personal heartache and even imprisonment. Given that the air date is relatively soon, BritBox has released the trailer as well today which you can see below the post, so you can check it out and tell us what you think, will you be watching when it is released for streaming this summer?

Nancy was a writer who wrote novels including “The Pursuit of Love” while Diana and Unity were fascists who were close to Hitler. Jessica was a communist, Pamela lived out the latter half of her life with a woman and Deborah became a duchess after marriage. Toby Regbo will play their brother Tom while Anna Chancellor and James Purefoy will be their mother and father. Joshua Sasse will star in the six part series as Oswald Mosley, Jamie Blackley as Peter Rodd, James Musgrave as Hamish Erskine, Calam Lynch as Bryan Guinness and Will Attenborough as Joss.

The film is based on Alexei Tolstoy’s fairy tale “The Golden Key, or the Adventures of Pinocchio,” which takes place in the Kingdom of Tarabar following wooden doll Pinocchio, who goes through many adventures.
