Sex in the suburbs was never the same again. Disney Plus and Hulu are all ready to release the second season of their popular, super juicy and irreverent soapy series RIVALS which will arrive next week May 15th with first six episodes, with other six arriving on some later date and today we have the fun character posters to celebrate the incoming release. The series is based on a book by Dame Jilly Cooper.

WHAT IS THE STORY? 

It follows David  Tennant as an owner of a British TV station in the 80s and Aidan Turner as a TV host who forms a rival station with politician and sports star played by Alex Hassell. Filled with scandals, treachery, nudity and sex romp, the series was a huge hit. The second season will have even more wit, desire, and jaw-dropping twists. Power struggles intensify, rivalries deepen and ambition pushes loyalties to the brink. Set in the stunning Cotswolds countryside and against the backdrop of the glamorous, high-stakes world of 1980s British television, the second instalment reunites the all-star cast who captivated fans and critics, while introducing some exciting new faces. Following last season’s dramatic cliffhanger with Tony’s fate hanging in the balance, Lord Baddingham is back and out for vengeance ready to stop at nothing to keep Corinium’s empire unrivalled.  

WHO IS JOINING THE CAST? 

Joining the regular cast in the second season is Hayley Atwell who will portray Helen Gordon, the ex-wife of Rupert Campbell-Black and mother to his children Marcus and Tabitha. Rupert Everett will be Malise Gordon, her husband and Campbell-Black’s former show-jumping coach and mentor. Maxim Ays, Holly Cattle, Oliver Dench, Amanda Lawrence, Bobby Lockwood, Eliot Salt, and Jonny Weldon are also the new faces in the cast.

ITV and Australian Stan have released first trailer from their new TV series THE HACK with David Tennant, Robert Carlyle and Toby Jones in the lead roles of the show which revolves around the demise of Rupert Murdoch's News of the World, as well as the investigation and arrest of over 100 individuals, plus the subsequent Leveson Inquiry. The series is primarily given from the perspectives of investigative journalist Nick Davies (Tennant) – who helped uncover evidence of phone-hacking at the now-defunct tabloid News of the World – and Metropolitan Police detective Dave Cook (Carlyle). Cook was leading inquiries into the 1987 murder of private investigator Daniel Morgan in a pub car park, which remains unsolved to this day and has been a source of controversy and criticism towards the Met. Across a decade-long time frame, from 2002 to 2012, the series will deftly interweave these two investigations. August 28th as a feature movie directed by Chris Columbus and you can see the full trailer today with Helen Mirren, Celia Imrie, Pierce Brosnan and Ben Kingsley who lead the cast as three of the four septuagenarian friends who live in a retirement community and solve cold cases for fun. When a shady property developer is found dead, the four find themselves in the middle of their first live crime. Variety reports that 14 studios fought for the movie right on this one. David Tennant, Jonathan Pryce, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays and Henry Lloyd-Hughes also star in the movie.

THE STORY OF RIVALS

In the fictional county of Rutshire, along-standing rivalry between two powerful men is about to boil over. Alex Hassell plays dashing ex-Olympian, Tory Member of Parliament and incorrigible rake, the dangerously charismatic Rupert Campbell-Black. David Tennan is Ruperts ambitious and egotistical Rutshire neighbour Lord Tony Baddingham, controller of Corinium Television. A long-simmering power struggle between them threatens to boil over when the two men lock horns over the future of Corinium. Caught in the crossfire is TV presenter Declan OHara, (Aidan Turner). Fiercely intellectual, with an even fiercer temper, he is wooed to Corinium TV from the BBC by Baddingham himself, but feels he’s been swindled when Tony refuses to deliver on his promises. Furious with Tony, Declan vows to get his revenge. Victoria Smurfit is Maud OHara, a former actress and Declans bohemian, fickle wife. Bella Maclean is Declan and Mauds tender-hearted yet strong-willed elder daughter, Taggie. She holds the O Hara family together and keeps an eye  on her younger and wilder sister Caitlin  (Catriona Chandler). Nafessa Williams is Cameron Cook, a ferociously talented American TV executive who is brought to Corinium by Tony to produce Declans new prime-time talk show. She soon finds herself caught between the two powerful men who deeply underestimate her at their peril. Katherine Parkinson is Lizzie Vereker, a romantic novelist consistently overlooked by her preening and self-centred TV presenter husband, James Vereker (Oliver Chris). Danny Dyer is Freddie Jones: honourable, loyal and lovable, he’s a self-made electronics millionaire. Freddie's got the money, but finds himself, along with his social-climbing wife Valerie (Lisa McGrillis), an outsider to Rutshires cliques. But when Rupert and Tony come to him with a business proposition, all that could change. Claire Rushbrook is Lady Monica Baddingham, Tonys dependable, upper-crust wife who has absolutely no interest in the dramatic goings-on within her husbands empire. Luke Pasqualino is the charming Basil Bas Baddingham, Tonys younger brother and the proprietor of Cotchesters hot spot, Bar Sinister. Emily Atack is Sarah Stratton, the new wife to Deputy Prime Minister, Paul Stratton (Rufus Jones). Sarah is ambitious and not afraid to use her looks to get to the top.
