SEASON TWO TEASER TRAILER IS HERE

Disney Plus and Hulu are all ready to release the second season of their popular, super juicy and irreverent soapy series RIVALS which will arrive next week May 15th with first six episodes, with other six arriving on some later date and today we have the fun character posters to celebrate the incoming release. The series is based on a book by Dame Jilly Cooper.

WHAT IS THE STORY? 

It follows David  Tennant as an owner of a British TV station in the 80s and Aidan Turner as a TV host who forms a rival station with politician and sports star played by Alex Hassell. Filled with scandals, treachery, nudity and sex romp, the series was a huge hit. The second season will have even more wit, desire, and jaw-dropping twists. Power struggles intensify, rivalries deepen and ambition pushes loyalties to the brink. Set in the stunning Cotswolds countryside and against the backdrop of the glamorous, high-stakes world of 1980s British television, the second instalment reunites the all-star cast who captivated fans and critics, while introducing some exciting new faces. Following last season’s dramatic cliffhanger with Tony’s fate hanging in the balance, Lord Baddingham is back and out for vengeance ready to stop at nothing to keep Corinium’s empire unrivalled.  

WHO IS JOINING THE CAST? 

Joining the regular cast in the second season is Hayley Atwell who will portray Helen Gordon, the ex-wife of Rupert Campbell-Black and mother to his children Marcus and Tabitha. Rupert Everett will be Malise Gordon, her husband and Campbell-Black’s former show-jumping coach and mentor. Maxim Ays, Holly Cattle, Oliver Dench, Amanda Lawrence, Bobby Lockwood, Eliot Salt, and Jonny Weldon are also the new faces in the cast.

The second season returns January 9th

Disney Plus ordered this one for two seasons originally so they are now ready to give us the second season from January 9th. A THOUSAND BLOWS will stream on Hulu in USA like the last time with Malachi Kirby, Erin Doherty and Stephen Graham returning to the 1880s London! Ned Dennehy and Catherine McCormack join the cast as Bull Jeremy and Sophie Lyons, with Daniel Mays and Jason Tobin returning from the first season.   WHAT TO EXPECT FROM SEASON 2? 

With the characters continuing their battle for survival in the brutal East End of London in the 1880s, season two picks up one year after the events of season one. Hezekiah (Kirby)’s a shadow of the man he once was whilst Sugar Goodson (Graham) is estranged from his family and drinking himself to death. Just as Wapping is about to sigh its last breath, Mary Carr (Doherty) bursts back into town with her loyal second, Alice Diamond, to reassemble her gang and reclaim her crown. As always, Mary has a plan; one which will involve all those she holds dearest. And this time it’s riskier than ever.

The series, which has had two books so far, takes place in the world of Gilmouria Archipelago. Christopher is a human boy who stumbles into the hidden entrance to the magical world while spending the holiday with his grandfather in the Scottish Highlands. He soon meets Mal, a girl from this hidden world of magical creatures, and together they attempt to save the creatures that are suffering from a decline in the magical force that keeps them alive and vibrant.

Straight from BBC and HBO we have the first look at buffed Richard Gadd in their new series HALF MAN in which he stars next to Jamie Bell as brothers Ruben and Niall, who reunite after years of estrangement, leading to an explosion of violence that catapults us back through their lives over the course of the series. Mitchell Robertson and Stuart Campbell will play them in their younger years in the six episode series that spans four decades from the 1980s to present day! Disney Plus is about to start filming the 12 episode second season of their hit series RIVALS and have added Rupert Everett and Hayley Atwell to the cast of the show set in the glamorous world of 1980s British television against the backdrop of the Cotswolds countryside, with the second season dealing with heightened power struggles and deeper rivalries as careers, marriages and reputations hang in the balance. Over at Acorn TV they have added Tom Cavanagh and Amalia Williamson to their six part crime drama YOU ARE KILLING ME with Brooke Shields in the lead. Set in a quaint New England colonial town, formerly knows as Ally and Andi, follows bestselling novelist (Shields) who forms an unlikely alliance with Andi, an aspiring writer and podcaster (Williamson) to find the killer of a close friend. Cavanagh plays Jack, the new lead detective of the Founders Cove Police Department and former city slicker who is trying to acclimate to the quirks of small-town life.

Hulu has released a trailer and start date for their new mini series THE TWISTED TALE OF AMANDA KNOX which starts August 20th. The series, which will open with two episodes and then stream weekly on Disney Plus and Hulu, stars Grace Van Patten, Sharon Horgan, John Hoogenakker, Francesco Acquaroli, Giuseppe De Domenico and Roberta Mattei. It is a limited series inspired by the story of how Amanda Knox was wrongfully convicted for the tragic murder of her roommate, Meredith Kercher, and her 16-year odyssey to set herself free. She spent almost 4 years incarcerated in Italy after a wrongful murder conviction.

THE STORY OF RIVALS

In the fictional county of Rutshire, along-standing rivalry between two powerful men is about to boil over. Alex Hassell plays dashing ex-Olympian, Tory Member of Parliament and incorrigible rake, the dangerously charismatic Rupert Campbell-Black. David Tennan is Ruperts ambitious and egotistical Rutshire neighbour Lord Tony Baddingham, controller of Corinium Television. A long-simmering power struggle between them threatens to boil over when the two men lock horns over the future of Corinium. Caught in the crossfire is TV presenter Declan OHara, (Aidan Turner).
