BBC One has released a trailer ahead of the April 24th launch of their new mini TV series HALF MAN with Richard Gadd and Jamie Bell. The six episode drama will also air on HBO in USA a day before also starring Stuart Campbell and Mitchell Robertson who play their characters in younger years. Niall and Ruben are brothers. Brought into each other’s lives through death and circumstance, all they have is each other… But when Ruben turns up at Niall’s wedding three decades later, everything seems different. He is on edge. Shifty. Not acting like himself. And soon, an explosion of violence takes place which catapults us back through their lives, from the eighties to the present day. Capturing 30 years in the lives of these broken men, HALF MAN explores brotherhood, violence, and the intense fragility of male relationships. After all, when things fall apart… it is sometimes the closest relationships which break the hardest. It will stream on Stan in Australia.

When it comes to Channel 4 their tentpole series will probably be the remake of A WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE which follows Brenda Blethyn as poor lass who rises to become one of the riches women in the world. They will also have Rafe Spall playing prime minister next to Jenna Coleman in NUMBER 10. They will also see David Morrissey and Alan Cumming playing neighbours in war in TIP TOEPaapa Essiedu will star in FALLING series with our dearest British thespian Keeley Hawes as a Catholic priest and a nun who fall unexpectedly in love.
 
 2026 BRAND NEW TV SHOWS FROM BBC
One of the new shows to expect from BBC this year is BABIES which follows Paapa Essiedu and Siobhán Cullen as a couple who deals with pregnancy losses over the years. Richard Gadd and Jamie Bell will play brothers with turbulent relationship in HALF MAN. Sheridan Smith and Michael Socha will be two casino workers trying to rob from the same safe in THE CAGE, while LORD OF THE FLIES series will follow a group of school children stranded on a tropical island with no adults after a plane crash. We might also get A TALE OF TWO CITIES French revolution period set series based on Charles Dickens novel with Kit Harrington and Francois Civil in the leads. Costume drama might also arrive with THE OTHER BENNET sister based on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice character. THE HAIRDRESSER MYSTERIES will follow a hairdresser turned detective in a cosy little village. TWO WEEKS IN AUGUST will see Jessica Raine as a woman on holiday with friends and family in the Mediterranean who finds herself trapped.

ITV will soon have Shaun Evans playing an MI5 operative with a problematic private life in BETRAYAL while Natalie Dormer is set to play Duchess Fergie in THE LADY about her murderous dresser. Gemma Arterton will play senior MI6 officer spying on Russia in SECRET SERVICE while Luke Evans and Tom Cullen will lead THE PARTY playing two friends from school who grow up to become a political figure anda journalist. Michelle Keegan and Douglas Booth will lead THE BLAME following detectives investigating a teenage figure skater's suspicious death.
 2026 BRAND NEW TV SHOWS FROM SKY 
Sky has one of the most interesting ones in THE MINIATURE WIFE in which Matthew MacFadyen plays a husband scientist who shrinks his wife Elizabeth Banks accidentally to six inches. Dominic West and Sienna Miller will, meanwhile, play a high power couple leading a divorce battle in WAR. This month they also have UNDER SALT MARSH crime series with Rafe Spall and Kelly Reilly. They will also have Gugu Mbatha Raw and Jonny Lee MIller in INHERITANCE about a lawyer who investigates an inheritance claim in Jamaica.

FIRST LOOK AT HALF MAN SERIES
Straight from BBC and HBO we have the first look at buffed Richard Gadd in their new series HALF MAN in which he stars next to Jamie Bell as brothers Ruben and Niall, who reunite after years of estrangement, leading to an explosion of violence that catapults us back through their lives over the course of the series. Mitchell Robertson and Stuart Campbell will play them in their younger years in the six episode series that spans four decades from the 1980s to present day! Story explores highs and lows of Ruben and Niall’s relationship, from meeting them as troubled teenagers to witnessing their falling out as adults with all the good, bad, terrible, funny, angry and challenging moments along the way!
 
 RUPERT EVERETT JOINS RIVALS SEASON 2
Disney Plus is about to start filming the 12 episode second season of their hit series RIVALS and have added Rupert Everett and Hayley Atwell to the cast of the show set in the glamorous world of 1980s British television against the backdrop of the Cotswolds countryside, with the second season dealing with heightened power struggles and deeper rivalries as careers, marriages and reputations hang in the balance. Aidan Turner, David Tennant and Alex Hassell return to the lead roles. Atwell will portray Helen Gordon, the ex-wife of Rupert Campbell-Black and mother to his children Marcus and Tabitha. Everett will be Malise Gordon, her husband and Campbell-Black’s former show-jumping coach and mentor. 
 
 
YOU ARE KILLING ME DRAMA ADS CAST 
Over at Acorn TV they have added Tom Cavanagh and Amalia Williamson to their six part crime drama YOU ARE KILLING ME with Brooke Shields in the lead. Set in a quaint New England colonial town, formerly knows as Ally and Andi, follows bestselling novelist (Shields) who forms an unlikely alliance with Andi, an aspiring writer and podcaster (Williamson) to find the killer of a close friend. Cavanagh plays Jack, the new lead detective of the Founders Cove Police Department and former city slicker who is trying to acclimate to the quirks of small-town life.

BBC and HBO have revealed that joining Richard Gadd in their new six episode series HALF MAN will be Jamie Bell. It follows estranged ‘brothers’ Niall (Bell) and Ruben (Gadd). When Ruben shows up unexpectedly at Niall’s wedding, it leads to an explosion of violence that catapults us back through their lives. Spanning almost 40 years from the 1980s to the present day, this ambitious series will cover the highs and lows of the brothers' relationship, from them meeting as teenagers to their falling out as adults – with all the good, bad, terrible, funny, angry, and challenging moments along the way. Half Man will capture the wild energy of a changing city - a changing world, even - and try to get to the bottom of the difficult question... What does it mean to be a man?
