Sky is ready to show us Gugu Mbatha Raw in their scorching hot, tropical five part mini series POSSESSION previously known as Inheritance. It will hit the small screens August 6th! She plays Claudia, an ambitious young bi‑racial lawyer who travels to Jamaica to challenge an inheritance claim made by a local man, Cudjoe East (Sheldon Shepherd), against Oliver Connaught (Jonny Lee Miller), a wealthy white aristocrat. But the case takes an unsettling turn when Claudia discovers that the disputed estate is the very place that has haunted her nightmares: Hope Hill, the Connaught family’s former plantation. As Claudia and Oliver dig deeper, they uncover a disturbing link between the plantation’s brutal past and the injustices still shaping the present. Bel Powley stars in the period set scenes in the series will go into the past.

When it comes to Channel 4 their tentpole series will probably be the remake of A WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE which follows Brenda Blethyn as poor lass who rises to become one of the riches women in the world. They will also have Rafe Spall playing prime minister next to Jenna Coleman in NUMBER 10. They will also see David Morrissey and Alan Cumming playing neighbours in war in TIP TOEPaapa Essiedu will star in FALLING series with our dearest British thespian Keeley Hawes as a Catholic priest and a nun who fall unexpectedly in love.
 
 2026 BRAND NEW TV SHOWS FROM BBC
One of the new shows to expect from BBC this year is BABIES which follows Paapa Essiedu and Siobhán Cullen as a couple who deals with pregnancy losses over the years. Richard Gadd and Jamie Bell will play brothers with turbulent relationship in HALF MAN. Sheridan Smith and Michael Socha will be two casino workers trying to rob from the same safe in THE CAGE, while LORD OF THE FLIES series will follow a group of school children stranded on a tropical island with no adults after a plane crash. We might also get A TALE OF TWO CITIES French revolution period set series based on Charles Dickens novel with Kit Harrington and Francois Civil in the leads. Costume drama might also arrive with THE OTHER BENNET sister based on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice character. THE HAIRDRESSER MYSTERIES will follow a hairdresser turned detective in a cosy little village. TWO WEEKS IN AUGUST will see Jessica Raine as a woman on holiday with friends and family in the Mediterranean who finds herself trapped.

ITV will soon have Shaun Evans playing an MI5 operative with a problematic private life in BETRAYAL while Natalie Dormer is set to play Duchess Fergie in THE LADY about her murderous dresser. Gemma Arterton will play senior MI6 officer spying on Russia in SECRET SERVICE while Luke Evans and Tom Cullen will lead THE PARTY playing two friends from school who grow up to become a political figure anda journalist. Michelle Keegan and Douglas Booth will lead THE BLAME following detectives investigating a teenage figure skater's suspicious death.
 2026 BRAND NEW TV SHOWS FROM SKY 
Sky has one of the most interesting ones in THE MINIATURE WIFE in which Matthew MacFadyen plays a husband scientist who shrinks his wife Elizabeth Banks accidentally to six inches. Dominic West and Sienna Miller will, meanwhile, play a high power couple leading a divorce battle in WAR. This month they also have UNDER SALT MARSH crime series with Rafe Spall and Kelly Reilly. They will also have Gugu Mbatha Raw and Jonny Lee MIller in INHERITANCE about a lawyer who investigates an inheritance claim in Jamaica.

SIBLINGS LEFT WITH NOTHING IN CHANNEL 5 NEW THRILLER MINI TV SERIES THE INHERITANCE WHICH STARTS NEXT WEEK!

Beside the news that Disney Plus has opted out of Nautilus, epic TV series on Captain Nemo (rumour has it that they are trying to shop it elsewhere as it cost them close to $200 million), I also have for you a spotlight on THE INHERITANCE thriller mini TV series which will air weekly on Channel 5 from Monday, September 4th and will also be available online on their My5.   THE FOUR PART SERIES
revolves around three siblings (Robert James-Collier, Gaynor Faye and Jemima Rooper) who are left reeling by an unexpected family tragedy. Upon discovering their exclusion from the will, they embark on a perilous quest to uncover the truth behind the death, pondering whether it was an unfortunate accident or a sinister murder. The series delves into shattered secrets, fractured relationships, and lost lives as the siblings strive to reclaim their rightful inheritance and decipher the enigma surrounding them, prompting the age-old question: Is family loyalty unbreakable?
 

 THE FIRST EPISODE SEES
Sian, Daniel, and Chloe Watson left in shock following their father Dennis’s sudden demise. To their astonishment, his will reveals that everything, including the family home, is bequeathed to a woman they’ve never encountered. This woman (Samantha Bond), who had a clandestine 14-year affair with their father and married him in secret, becomes the epicentre of suspicion. As the siblings scrutinize their father’s life, they harbour growing doubts about Susan’s involvement in his death. Why was her existence concealed from them? Why was Dennis hiding signs of dementia? Unsettling discoveries of hidden potent substances and chemicals around his house raise more questions. Moreover, the contradiction between his wish for cremation and his prearranged burial plot alongside their mother baffles them. While the  siblings attempt to piece together the puzzle, they remain oblivious to the fact that someone is surveilling them – Dennis’s family videos are being watched, and secrets are being monitored.

When it turns out they are not left anything in the will, they embark on a dangerous journey to figure out whether his death was truly a tragic accident, or whether it was in fact murder. So, a family who look harmonious and loving start to show the cracks borne of years of secrets and jealousy. Secrets are exploded, relationships ripped apart, and lives lost as the siblings try desperately to claw back their inheritance and make sense of what is happening around them… asking the question, is blood really thicker than water?

Available for streaming on ITVX as of this Thursday, March 30th is new four part drama SIX FOUR with Kevin McKidd. Set primarily in Glasgow, it is a dark and compelling story of kidnap, corruption, betrayal and an uncompromising search for the truth, when Chris and Michelle O’Neill’s teenage daughter goes missing. Serving police detective Chris, played by McKidd, is provided with a startling revelation about an infamous, unsolved case that once divided the police when a local girl called Julie Mackie disappeared. Now, reeling from the news that his own daughter has gone missing, Chris is approached by a journalist who tells him that fatal mistakes were covered-up in Julie’s disappearance. Revisiting the case, Chris uncovers a series of undeniable errors, corruption and unbridled ambition.
