founding principal training officer of the SAS, who at the start of the

Dashing Donal Finn, who previously had small roles in other epic shows such as The Wheel of Time and The Witcher, will portray Eoin McGonigal in this new series from BBC and Epix. Like the others, Eoin McGonigal was also a real-life member of the SAS in World War II.
Beside the news that Serpent Queen is getting a second season and that Henry Cavill will be returning as Superman, there is another delicious info this Saturday:

the same unnaturally handsome hunkster will lead THE MINISTRY OF UNGEN TLEMANLY WARFARE WW2 historical movie adventure from Guy Ritchie. Eiza González will also star in the Jerry Bruck heimer produced flick.
To start shooting in Turkey this January, the movie, inspired by real
events, will chart UK PM Winston Churchill’s and James Bond scribe Ian
Fleming’s secret WWII combat organization. The clandestine squad’s
unconventional and entirely ‘ungentlemanly’ fighting techniques against
the Nazis helped change the course of the war and in part gave birth to
the modern Black Ops unit. Based on war correspondent and military
historian Damien Lewis’ popular book of the same name, the movie will
also feature a whole gallery of colourful characters.
TAKING OVER THE WITCHER
Liam will be the new Witcher
Speaking of Henry, Netflix has just confirmed that he will be leaving their THE WITCHER epic TV series after season three that has already been shot, and Liam Hemsworth will take over the role in season four. Season three is returning next summer. Here is what Cavill said: "In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf. As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam's take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men. Liam, good sir, this character has such a wonderful depth to him, enjoy diving in and seeing what you can find."

The good news for all you Americans is that the series has been sold to PBS for airing next March. barely 14 years old when she left Austria and her mother empress Maria
Theresa to marry the Dauphin in France. She is still a stubborn and
dissipated young child who must comply with French rules, which are
numerous and complicated. The young princess quickly suffers from not
being able to live her life as she sees fit. She is constantly under
pressure to carry on the Bourbon line. A mission more complicated than
expected: even if the relationship between Marie Antoinette and Louis
XVI improves over time, it will take them seven years to consummate
their marriage. From the young runner-up to the queen of style, a true
fashion icon, Marie Antoinette quickly impresses with her charisma and
naturalness. She will gradually understand the codes and secrets of the
French court and completely recreate Versailles in her image! But her
success stirs up jealousy and rivalry. Defamatory pamphlets and
persistent rumors about her private life undermine her reputation. It
will take a lot of courage to defeat her numerous enemies at
the Versailles court.
THE STORY BEHIND THE SET
Given that the show has been written by an all female team you can
expect a feminist agenda stuffed into the times where they did not know
an F about Feminism. The 1770s set show was shot in authentic historical
locations including the chateau of Versailles from which Marie went on
to have her wigged head chop chopped after advising the starving masses
to eat some cake if they don't have bread. Of course, the show will
depict such a person as not frivolous but strong, empowering, emancipated and
independent. I know, I know, I am laughing too... or maybe I am crying.
What is known to be true is that she did break down the etiquette
established by Louis XIV whom we watched in Versailles series created by
the same team as the new series. The court will also include Joseph
Bologne de Saint-George, a Creole virtuoso violinist and conductor who
was part of Marie-Antoinette’s entourage and who is soon getting his own
movie. The series was shot on the sets that took more than two months to built and with the crew that had almost 800 people! The second season is already being written!

IN THIS EPIC TV SERIES about
the royal Valois-Angoulême house who ruled in the midst of the
Renaissance, a woman rides in the lead in the race for honours: her name
is Diane de Poitiers, experienced huntress whose unalterable beauty
fueled rumors and legends during her lifetime... and long after her
death. Despite her unchallenged influence over Henry, the youngest son
of Francis I, her position at court remained fragile in the face of the
powerful rival Anne de Pisseleu, the King's favourite, who had a fierce hatred
for her. And wasn't Henry's marriage to Catherine de Medici definitively
compromising the dreams of Diana, who did not hesitate to compare
herself to the goddess Artemis? Can the great Nostradamus (Gerard Depardieu) himself
predict Diane's future? Can a simple
courtesan escape the suspicions of
the inquisition which relentlessly hunts down Protestants and witches?
Almost a queen... More than a queen... Diane de Poitiers is a formidable
firebrand, an icon of fashion and power, and a free woman.
