Channel 5 has released first image from their new mystery series LAST RESORT which follows retired librarian Gail (Caroline Quentin) as she takes her sister, Joy (Niamh Cusack), to an idyllic holiday town in what is supposed to be a fun-filled bucket list trip. Sadly, Joy is suffering from the early stages of dementia, so the sisters are keen to get the most out of every moment they have left together, inviting longtime friends Dee (Tessa Peake-Jones) and Charlie (Jason Watkins) along for the ride. However, these best-laid plans quickly go awry when tragedy strikes the local community, with police being quick to declare an unfortunate accident – but the group are convinced it is murder and set out to prove it. As old crimes surface and dark patterns emerge, the group of friends finds that this seemingly idyllic resort town – with its beach walks, pub lunches, and good-natured bickering – hides something far more sinister. Together they must piece together one devastating mystery and track down a killer who has been hunting in this close-knit coastal community and beyond! John Hannah plays a cop. 

 

THE OTHER BENNET SISTER XMAS SPECIAL

BBC is, meanwhile, wishing you a Mary Christmas! Their popular costume drama THE OTHER BENNET SISTER is returning for a three-part special this Christmas. Ella Bruccoleri returns as Mary, with a host of other familiar faces from the series. The series offers a fresh take on one of Jane Austen’s most unassuming characters: Mary Bennet. Forced to step out of her sisters' shadows, Mary embarks on a journey of self-discovery – finding love, and most importantly herself, along the way. BritBox is airing it in USA. 

 

 

LEANNE SEASON TWO ARRIVES AUGUST 

Netflix has announced the return of their multicamera sitcom LEANNE for August 27th with Leanne Morgan returning as Leanne whose world is turned upside down when her husband of 33 years unexpectedly leaves her for another woman. Supported by her family, including her ride-or-die sister Carol (Kristen Johnston), Leanne learns to embrace the chaos and finds strength, laughter and hope in the most unexpected places. It's 1944, and while sheltering during an air raid, Roger strikes up a conversation with Verity, a Wren. But when he is invited to stay at a country estate eerily similar to the one in his dreams, and is assigned the very same room, he becomes increasingly disturbed as his nightmare begin to become reality. What is really lurking, waiting for him in the room in the tower? The series is now airing over at Hallmark

Hallmark has launched their new festive series TWELVE DATES TILL CHRISTMAS last night, December 5th with our dearest Julian Morris in the cast next to acting legends Jane Seymour and Nathaniel Parker and dashing Toby Sandeman with Mae Withman in the lead role.

 

  WHAT'S THE STORY?

Talented Saville Row textile pattern designer Kate (Whitman) lives in the quaint village of Blexford, England, next door to her father Mac (Parker), who is long divorced from Kate’s mother Delilah (Mary McDonnell), a globe trotting American always on an adventure. When not at work, Kate looks after Mac, who’s recovering from a motorbike accident and is inclined to spend his days sitting in his recliner. Unbeknownst to Kate, her best friend Laura (Lucy Eaton) signs her up for The 12 Dates of Christmas – a holiday themed matchmaking program in the days leading up to the holiday featuring carefully curated, yuletide dating experiences, in an attempt to get Kate out of her rut. Lovingly coerced by Laura and longtime best friend Callum (Morris), a reluctant Kate ultimately gets into the spirit of the program and is caught off guard when she meets someone (Sandeman) who reinvigorates her zest for life. But when Delilah unexpectedly shows up on her doorstep – literally – Kate and Mac’s life and holiday season get upended. Meanwhile, Mac may be embarking on his own romance with local Evelyn (Seymour), a widow who slowly helps him step outside the confines of his house and open his heart. It’s Christmas 1945, the first peacetime Christmas after the war. With Helen (Rachel Shenton) feeling under the weather, it’s fallen on James (Nicholas Ralph) to take on the Darrowby Nativity play. Siegfried (Samuel West) is back at Mrs Stokes’ Farm to see Hilda the goat, who’s been up to more mischief and, true to form, gives Siegfried the run-around. Will Siegfried’s drench solution do the trick? Christmas dinner is in very short supply this year, so Mrs Hall (Anna Madeley) is keen to enter the Drovers' darts competition and scoop the first prize; a fresh turkey. Maggie reminds Tristan (Callum Woodhouse) he’s supposed to be supplying the Christmas tree and he covers himself, but of course, he’d forgotten. Charlotte resolves to help him. In the spirit of the festive atmosphere, here is another holiday film which continues the series of Christmas movies in December as well: RODEO CHRISTMAS ROMANCE already aired on W Network in Canada back in October but will air on Lifetime Saturday December 13th based on the book "Catching a Christmas Cowboy" by Leah Vale. Gorgeous Rebecca Dalton and Corey Sevier take the lead roles in this one. Unfortunately, her dreams of a nostalgic holiday break are dashed when her ex-husband, Everett (Oliver Hudson), unexpectedly introduces his young and successful new girlfriend into the mix. Ted is optimistic that this budding romance is the beginning of his Christmas comeback, but his looming holiday bad luck still has a few curveballs in store for him. This Christmas, Huntley must decide if he wants to step into a leadership role and carry on the family ranch’s legacy as his parents, the owners, approach retirement. Unaware of her status as a princess, Huntley puts Victoria through the rigors of a Montana ranch experience. Victoria also plans to help Huntley revive the ranch’s Christmas Holly-Day Dance. Victoria finds herself charmed by both Huntley and this different pace of life. As the two start to fall for each other, things get complicated when Huntley discovers Victoria is a princess. Out December 5th, it is a festive TV series not a film based on Jenni Bayliss’ book, starring Mae Whitman, Lucy Eaton, Mary McDonnell, Jane Seymour. Our dear boys Julian Morris, Toby Sandeman, Nathaniel Parker, take the male roles. The six-episode series follows a woman who, after being signed up for a Christmas-themed dating service, experiences 12 holiday dates designed to find her love.
