Disney Plus and Hulu are all ready to release the second season of their popular, super juicy and irreverent soapy series RIVALS which will arrive next week May 15th with first six episodes, with other six arriving on some later date and today we have the fun character posters to celebrate the incoming release. The series is based on a book by Dame Jilly Cooper.

WHAT IS THE STORY? 

It follows David  Tennant as an owner of a British TV station in the 80s and Aidan Turner as a TV host who forms a rival station with politician and sports star played by Alex Hassell. Filled with scandals, treachery, nudity and sex romp, the series was a huge hit. The second season will have even more wit, desire, and jaw-dropping twists. Power struggles intensify, rivalries deepen and ambition pushes loyalties to the brink. Set in the stunning Cotswolds countryside and against the backdrop of the glamorous, high-stakes world of 1980s British television, the second instalment reunites the all-star cast who captivated fans and critics, while introducing some exciting new faces. Following last season’s dramatic cliffhanger with Tony’s fate hanging in the balance, Lord Baddingham is back and out for vengeance ready to stop at nothing to keep Corinium’s empire unrivalled.  

WHO IS JOINING THE CAST? 

Joining the regular cast in the second season is Hayley Atwell who will portray Helen Gordon, the ex-wife of Rupert Campbell-Black and mother to his children Marcus and Tabitha. Rupert Everett will be Malise Gordon, her husband and Campbell-Black’s former show-jumping coach and mentor. Maxim Ays, Holly Cattle, Oliver Dench, Amanda Lawrence, Bobby Lockwood, Eliot Salt, and Jonny Weldon are also the new faces in the cast.

Freddie's got the money, but finds himself, along with his social-climbing wife Valerie (Lisa McGrillis), an outsider to Rutshires cliques. Claire Rushbrook is Lady Monica Baddingham, Tonys dependable, upper-crust wife who has absolutely no interest in the dramatic goings-on within her husbands empire. Declan needs only a few days at Corinium to realise that the Managing Director, Lord Baddingham (David Tennant), is a crook who has recruited him merely to help retain the franchise for Corinium. Declan and Cameron detest each other, provoking a storm of controversy into which Rupert plunges with his usual abandon.
