The cast also has Carla Gugino, Jack Quaid, Richard Coyle and Paddy Considine.

Also premiering over in Toronto beside all the period set movies I told you about, is THE FRIEND starring Bill Murray, Naomi Watts, and a charismatic Great Dane named Bing who propel this wise and insightful character drama
The film will open September 8th in Toronto
based on the acclaimed novel by Sigrid Nunez and directed by Scott McGehee and David Siegel. The cast also has Owen Teague, Constance Wu, Ann Dowd and Carla Gugino.
THE FILM FOLLOWS 
Iris (Watts) has had a long, complex friendship with Walter (Bill Murray). Walter is an irresistible charmer, a brilliant author, a lover of many women, and a master at letting down loved ones. When he dies suddenly, Iris is left to deal with all he left behind — three ex-wives with unfinished business, his interrupted literary legacy, and his beloved beast Apollo (Bing). It's not that Iris doesn't like dogs, but this is Manhattan, and she’ll get kicked out of her building if they find out she’s pretty much trying to house a horse.Yet as Iris finds herself unexpectedly bonding to the animal, she begins to come to terms with her past, her lost friend, and her own creative inner life.

CARLA GUGINO TO PLAY VIVIEN LEIGH IN GONE WITH THE WIND STARS BIOPIC THE FLORIST

As Variety reports, in Nick Sandow's new movie THE FLORIST Carla Gugino is set to play Vivien Leigh. It will explore Leigh’s struggle with bipolar disorder in the 1960s, as she prepares to lead the Broadway production of John Gielgud’s Chekhov adaptation of Ivanov. Leigh collides with Joseph Penn, a WWII veteran and blue-collar florist who encounters Leigh on a delivery. At the same time, the star attends a local psychiatric facility for electroconvulsive therapy. Amidst the backdrop of madness Leigh and Penn become each other’s sources of truth, beauty, and love.

NETFLIX DROPS THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER EDGAR ALLAN POE BASED TV SERIES TRAILER!

Netflix has released first trailer for their small screen television series adaptation of THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER which will, based on Edgar Allan Poe's story, start streaming October 12th
The series will stream in eight episodes
ahead of the Halloween holidays!
 
  SHE IS COMING FOR THEM ALL
 the story of the eight episode series, described as an epic tale of greed, horror and tragedy, follows ruthless siblings Roderick (Bruce Greenwood) and Madeline Usher (Carla Gugino), who have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege and power. But past secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth. So, a very, very loose adaptation of Poe's famous work.

The cast of the eight part series also includes Mary McDonnell, Carl Lumbly, Mark Hamill, Michael Trucco, T’Nia Miller, Paola Nuñez, Henry Thomas, Kyleigh Curran, Samantha Sloyan, Rahul Kohli, Kate Siegel, Sauriyan Sapkota, our boy Zach Gilford, Willa Fitzgerald, Katie Parker, Malcolm Goodwin, Crystal Balint, Aya Furukawa, Daniel Jun, Matt Biedel, Ruth Codd, Annabeth Gish, Igby Rigney and Robert Longstreet. Bruce Greenwood had previously replaced Frank Langella in the lead role after he was accused of misconduct at the set and was kicked out of the series by Netflix.

NETFLIX UNVEILS FIRST IMAGES AND SETS STREAMING DATE FOR THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER EDGAR ALLAN POE INSPIRED TV SERIES

Netflix has finally released some first photos and also an Autumn start date for their small screen television series adaptation of THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER which will, based on Edgar Allan Poe's famous work, be contemporary it seems not period set as we were hoping before. The eight episode adaptation will start streaming October 12th ahead of the Halloween holidays!  Hopefully we will get a trailer soon as well but for now you can check out the first images from the series unveiled today by the streamer.
