CARLA GUGINO TO PLAY VIVIEN LEIGH IN GONE WITH THE WIND STARS BIOPIC THE FLORIST

   THE FLORIST BIOPIC
CARLA GUGINO TO PLAY VIVIEN LEIGH
As Variety reports, in Nick Sandow's new movie THE FLORIST Carla Gugino is set to play Vivien Leigh. It will explore Leigh’s struggle with bipolar disorder in the 1960s, as she prepares to lead the Broadway production of John Gielgud’s Chekhov adaptation of Ivanov. Leigh collides with Joseph Penn, a WWII veteran and blue-collar florist who encounters Leigh on a delivery. At the same time, the star attends a local psychiatric facility for electroconvulsive therapy. Amidst the backdrop of madness Leigh and Penn become each other’s sources of truth, beauty, and love.

  1. it sounds so sad. I admired her a lot as an actress, and so beautiful, but mental illness destroys a person's character.

    1. So many stars have it, Catherine Zeta Jones for example too.

  3. I'm going back and forth on the casting for this one. Carla Gugino doesn't spring right to mind when you think of of Leigh, but the more I sit and think about it, it may work. We'll see.

    1. I always mix up Gugino with Valeria Golino.

    2. I did like Gugino in House of Usher, but I always first picture her acting with Pauly Shore in that dumb Son In Law movie. It's hard to remember that she can tackle serious roles when that's the first thing you remember her from.

    3. I cannot remember if I ever watched her in anything, she is one of those actresses that are always in the background for me.

  4. Somehow I don't like her, her type of beauty and acting compared to Vivien...
