TOM SHARP TO LEAD
PENDRAGON CYCLE EPIC SERIES
Earlier this year I informed you that Daily Wire is turning Stephen R. Lawhead’s THE PENDRAGON CYCLE series into a TV show and now they haveannounced young Tom Sharp as the lead star! With an unusual number
of seven episodes this reimagining of the myth of King Arthur, will be set at the end of Roman Britain when pagan tribes warred with Saxon and Pict invaders, and with each other. Tom Sharp is taking the role of young Merlin, the son of an Atlantean princess and the bard, Taliesen, who pursues his father’s vision of a ‘Kingdom of Summer’, a Briton unified in peace. To achieve this dream, Merlin will have to overcome ancient evils and navigate both the fall of the Roman occupation and the rise of Christianity in search of a king who can unite the Island of the Mighty. The series is currently shooting in Hungary for a 2024 release.
Tom Sharp is new Merlin the Wizard! |
Hmm, that actually sounds kinda good. Merlin being the son of an Atlantean princess is kinda cool.
ReplyDeleteHope he will have some powers unlike the Merlin in BBC series.
DeleteI'll skip this one, but Tom Sharp is cute. I like a blue eye dark hair combo.
ReplyDeleteHe is very handsome.
DeleteI am not sure if I have ever watched anything from Tom Sharp yet...gosh, his eyes are just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHe is a new comer, apparently comes from a blue collar family.
DeleteI rather liked the BBC Merlin. Still it's more than a decade ago so enough time has gone by that it won't be too samey to have another version of the legend. The version of the legend on Channel 4 at roughly the same time as Merlin (it was called Camelot) wasn't my cup of tea at all. Arthur and Morgana were miscast in my opinion. My favourite adaptation of the story was John Boorman's 1981 film Excalibur.
ReplyDeleteThey also have THE WINTER KING airing currently over at MGM Plus and later on at ITV.
