1ST IMAGES FROM FRENCH HISTORICAL MOVIES 17TH CENTURY SET MADAME DE SEVIGNE AND 18TH CENTURY SET UN JOUR FILLE

  1ST COSTUME FILM IMAGES
FROM MADAME DE SEVIGNE
First images from two upcoming French costume movies beginning with MADAME DE SEVIGNE from Isabelle Brocard, set for February 2024 release. In the middle of the 17th century, the Marquise de Sévigné wanted to make her daughter a brilliant and independent woman in her own image. But the more she tries to control the young woman's destiny, the more she alienates her. Mother and daughter then experience the throes of a singular and devastating passion. A major work of French literature is born from this devastation. Karin Viard and Ana Girardot lead the cast.

  FROM UN JOUR FILLE
There are also first images from Jean Claude Monod's UN JOUR FILLE set in the Eighteenth century. Anne (Marie Toscan), grew up as a girl, but has to "change her clothes" because of her attraction to women. After turning into a man, she marries, and lives a great love story with her new wife until the past catches up with her... The true and moving story of Anne Grandjean born intersex, and her resounding trial, which still brings all our certainties into question today. Yannick Renier and Isild de Besco also star.

  1. The costumes look great. I wouldn't want to have to wear those dresses but they look great.

    1. Life was hell back then especially as those gowns were almost never washed just aired from time to time LOL and most of them even pooped and peepeed under them.

  2. Both look promising. I am leaning more towards Un Jour Fille, but would watch either of these.
