FIRST JOY MOVIE IMAGE
WITH BILL NIGHY, JAMES NORTON
Netflix has started production on their new British movie JOY about the first in vitro fertilisation born baby. Directed by Ben Taylor and spanning from 1968 to 1978, it will follow three trailblazers facing opposition from the church, state, media and medical establishment, in their pursuit of the world’s first ‘test tube baby’, Louise Joy Brown. The three figures are a young nurse (Thomasin McKenzie), a visionary scientist (James Norton) and an innovative surgeon (Bill Nighy)! The production is exempt from the strike rules.
Bill Nighy here looks exactly like he was in Living. The technique of test tube baby has helped many families. Should be an interesting film.
ReplyDeleteI think he always looks the same and acts the same, but still a brilliant actor.
DeleteI lived through this - not in person of course but I remember it being in the media at the time.
DeleteIt was the major breakthrough in science.
DeleteScience is amazing. I’d sometimes love to be alive in 500 years from now just to see the advancements made by then.
ReplyDeleteOr the ruin of the society... in 50 years time world will be in deep shit, deary, as by then we will lose arable land and the population will rise so high we will be swamped. I read somewhere that by then Europe will be Islamic, so there is that as well LOL And by then climate changes will probably turn the world into a bad place for living.
DeleteUnfortunately, you're probably right. Humans are garbage and I'd probably be surprised if the planet is still standing in 500 years time. If this hellish summer didn't put the world on notice, nothing will get through to them.
ReplyDeleteNot even that little blasted idiot Greta.
