FIRST LOOK AT TV SERIES ADAPTATION
After casting Florence Pugh and Christopher Abbott in the lead role, Netflix added Ciaran Hinds, Mike Faist and Hoon Lee to the cast of EAST OF EDEN mini series adaptation of Steinbeck's classic novel produced by Zoe Kazan, whose grandad Elia directed the original film, and now we have the first set photos from it revealing the leads in costumes. Set in California’s Salinas Valley over a period that stretches from the Civil War to the end of World War I, the epic novel tells the interconnected stories of the Hamilton family, an Irish immigrant family with nine children, and the Trask family, lead by the wealthy Adam Trask (to be played by Abbott in the seven part series).

  1. Cathy was a temptress, a gorgeous woman . Jane Seymour was breathtaking in the 1980 miniseries. Florence Pugh lacks sensuality and sex appeal, plus she is a bad actress.

    1. She absolutely is, yet most of todays kids think she is the best actress ever, how mighty had standards fallen. Her and Saoirse and Chalamet ruling award ceremonies even though they have no talent, now even Demi Moore... since when did she become a good actress?

    1. I will give it a go, but I don't know who is pushing Christopher Abbot onto us so hard, he is so boring.

  4. Oh I so agree. Why do the worst performers always get he most recognition? Florence is not my cuppa tea and with this on Netflix it's surely a pass for me.

  5. What part is Ciarán Hinds playing? I've always thought him a decent actor. I liked the 1980s miniseries (showing my age). Jo Van Fleet wasn't a glamour puss but she made up for it with presence as Cathy in the 1955 film. The film had an excellent cast but they left out a lot of the book plot.
