MISS AUSTEN SERIES
BBC RELEASES TRAILER AND AIR DATE
BBC has released trailer and February 2nd air date for their upcoming new mini series MISS AUSTEN which will also air on PBS in USA
but from May 4th, marking 250 years since Austen's birth. The four part drama stars Keeley Hawes as Cassandra Austen, with Synnøve Karlsen,
Patsy Ferran, Phyllis Logan, Max Irons, Alfred Enoch, Calam Lynch, Mirren Mack, Kevin McNally also in the cast. On PBS it will air
in May and you can see what you can expect if you check out the first trailer below the post released earlier this morning by the British broadcaster.

THE DRAMA BEGINS IN 1830
many years after Jane has died. Cassandra (Keeley Hawes) rushes to visit Isabella (Rose Leslie), the niece of her long-dead fiancé, who is about to lose
her home following her father’s death. Cassandra is ostensibly
there to help Isabella, but her real motive is to find a hidden bundle
of private letters which,
in the wrong hands, she fears could destroy
Jane’s reputation. On discovering them, Cassandra is overwhelmed as she
is transported back to her youth. In
flashback, we meet Young Cassy
(Synnøve Karlsen) and Jane (Patsy Ferran) as they navigate the romantic
infatuations, family feuds and dashed
hopes which shaped their lives,
and laid the foundations for Jane’s unforgettable stories. Cassandra’s
re-evaluation of her past eventually leads
her to find a way to guide
Isabella towards the path of true happiness. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think.

I'm very curious about this series
ReplyDeleteHope you will manage to catch it.
DeleteDon't think we are going to watch this, but I recognize a few of familiar faces.
ReplyDeleteLots of well known names in it.
DeleteOne of my blog friends is looking forward to seeing this. She loves all things Austen.
ReplyDeleteI personally cannot stand Austen, such a dull writer LOL
DeletePoor Keeley just looks so drab and old in this one. Definitely not one of her best looks thus far.
ReplyDeleteI always find it so difficult to believe she is younger than us, either she is lying about her age or something else.
DeleteI saw Synnøve in a modern day show a few years ago and liked her. I actually like Jane Austen's work but feel her work is revisited too often. Perhaps some lesser known contemporary writers of hers could have their work dramatised. They can't all have been terrible.
ReplyDeleteCan't say I'm a fan of Karlsen, but I don't have a problem with her but with the godawful Rose Leslie, hope she does not have a lot of scenes in it.
