BBC RELEASES TRAILER AND AIR DATE

BBC has released trailer and February 2nd air date for their upcoming new mini series MISS AUSTEN which will also air on PBS in USA but from May 4th, marking 250 years since Austen's birth. The four part drama stars Keeley Hawes as Cassandra Austen, with Synnøve Karlsen, Patsy Ferran, Phyllis Logan, Max Irons, Alfred Enoch, Calam Lynch, Mirren Mack, Kevin McNally also in the cast. On PBS it will air   in May and you can see what you can expect if you check out the first trailer below the post released earlier this morning by the British broadcaster.

  THE DRAMA BEGINS IN 1830
many years after Jane has died. Cassandra (Keeley Hawes) rushes to visit Isabella (Rose Leslie), the niece of her long-dead fiancé, who is about to lose her home following her father’s death. Cassandra is ostensibly there to help Isabella, but her real motive is to find a hidden bundle of private letters which,in the wrong hands, she fears could destroy Jane’s reputation. On discovering them, Cassandra is overwhelmed as she is transported back to her youth. In flashback, we meet Young Cassy (Synnøve Karlsen) and Jane (Patsy Ferran) as they navigate the romantic infatuations, family feuds and dashed hopes which shaped their lives, and laid the foundations for Jane’s unforgettable stories. Cassandra’s re-evaluation of her past eventually leads her to find a way to guide Isabella towards the path of true happiness. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think.

BBC has released new images from their upcoming new mini series MISS AUSTEN which will arrive sometime next year and will also air on PBS in USA marking 250 years since Austen's birth. The four part drama stars Keeley Hawes as Cassandra Austen, with Synnøve Karlsen, Patsy Ferran, Phyllis Logan, Max Irons, Alfred Enoch, Calam Lynch, Mirren Mack, Kevin McNally also in the cast. On PBS it will air in May and you can see glimpses of the new series down in the trailer for PBS Masterpiece spring 2025 offer of new shows.

A year ago I told you that PBS Masterpiece is preparing mini series MISS AUSTEN and now we have the first image with Keeley Hawes as Jane Austen's sister Cassandra who burned Jane’s letters after her death. Rose Leslie plays Cassandra’s friend Isabella, who is about to lose her home after her father’s death. Cassandra wants to help her, but she also wants to find a stash of her late sister Jane’s private letters that could ruin Jane’s reputation if they came out.  Finding a way to guide Isabella towards true happiness, Cassandra is finally able to understand and celebrate the sacrifices she chose to make for her sister, Jane. Jessica Hynes, Alfred Enoch, Calam Lynch, Phyllis Logan, Kevin McNally and Max Irons also star. The four part drama will also air on BBC in UK.
