After visiting Italy and France earlier this week, we are heading to St. Petersburg where our today's fantastical musical was shot. Scheduled for cinematic premiere in mother Russia in February 2025 is historical musical movie PROPHET: THE STORY OF ALEXANDER PUSHKIN (Пророк. История Александра Пушкина) in which the role of the legendary poet in different years of his life is played by Yura Borisov in older age and Kai Goetz in youth.   WHAT IS THE NEW MOVIE ABOUT?

This is the life story of the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin from his lyceum days to the fatal duel. In the film, Pushkin will appear as a modern and multifaceted hero, in whom the dark and terrible fights with the light and enlightened.

 WHO IS IN THE CAST?

The cast of the movie directed by Felix Umarov also includes French actor Florian Desbiendras as Georges Dantes, Ilya Vinogorsky as Ivan Pushchin, Anna Chipovskaya in the role of Countess Elizaveta Vorontsova, Ilya Lyubimov as Vasily Zhukovsky, Evgeny Schwartz as his imperial highness Emperor Nicholas I of Russia and Sergei Gilev as Alexander Benckendorff. The film will be titled The Poet for the international release.
