CHELYUSKIN: THE FIRST
PERIOD SET TV SERIES TRAILER IS HERE
Exactly a year ago, back in January 2024 your trusted spy brought you the first images from this super epic icy adventure and today I have
the magnificently epic first teaser trailer from
new Russian series CHELYUSKIN: THE FIRST (Челю́скин) about a Soviet
steamship,
reinforced to navigate through polar ice, that in 1934
became ice-bound in Arctic waters during a navigation along the Northern
Maritime Route from
Murmansk to Vladivostok and sank. 111 people were
on board the
Chelyuskin, and all but one were rescued by air. The expedition's task
was to determine the
possibility to travel by non-icebreaker through the
Northern Maritime Route in a single navigation season. Gleb Kalyuzhny, Sergey Godin, Kirill
Goncharov, Alexey Rozin, Kirill Kyaro, Dmitry Kulichkov and Dmitry Chebotarev will lead the cast! The six episode series will arrive sometime this winter to Russian streamer Wink.

STORY STARTS IN FEBRUARY 1934
Navigating the Northern Sea Route in one navigation was
an ambitious goal and was of great importance for the USSR. Many
considered
this venture a futile and risky undertaking. Young and daring
polar explorers, led by Otto Schmidt, sincerely believed that they
would be able to complete
their task on the Chelyuskin steamship. But
great ideas turned into a great tragedy - the ship was trapped in ice
and sank. Now, in the harsh Arctic
conditions, the “Chelyuskinites” have
to fight for life every minute. Check out the super exciting and epic teaser trailer below and tell us what you think.

Well, now, that's another thing I'm adding on my list. Where can I watch the Russian series School, do you know? I don't see it in any streaming platforms.
ReplyDeleteProbably only on illegal sites around the web, even if you find it on Torrents don't think it would have Eng subs.
DeleteThe trailer was pretty good and has captured the mood of the movie...I wish there were more husky scenes though.
ReplyDeleteMaybe there are and maybe we will see some of their gorgeous samoyed dogs as well.
DeleteWish I could understand Russian. A while ago, I started learning, but I think I've forgotten everything. Looks like a pretty good movie.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely language, very soft and tender and melodic.
DeleteI actually find it opposite. I think it sounds rough. They could be saying "You're the most beautiful soul in the universe" and it would sound like "I want to eat your liver with a nice Chianti" to me LOL. Mila Kunis had a funny bit on how it's her native language and it sounds harsh even to her.
DeleteI think you either did not listen to Russian enough or you heard it only when American actors speak it, Slavic languages are melodic and soft unlike German languages. Your tongue, and Mila's obviously, is used to your sounds so you pronounce Russian sounds harsh instead of soft, if you hear natives speaking you would think exactly the opposite. And Serbian is even prettier because it is the most balanced of all Slavic ones, we don't have too many soft voices, nor too many rough ones like Slovenians for example, so we are the most balanced and very melodious.
DeleteIt's so cold here, I may want to visit Russia just to swipe some of their cozy coats and hats.
ReplyDeleteWe should be entering a cold week from Monday as well.
