The love and devotion of his loved ones sustained Nicholas through his most grueling trials, yet they could not shield him from betrayal. The treachery and cowardice of his Romanov relatives, politicians of every stripe, and generals who had sworn allegiance to the throne led to the collapse of the empire.

 THE STORY OF THE FILM IS SET IN 1812.

 After the great Battle of Borodino, French troops enter Moscow. But... what's this?! The streets of Moscow are deserted. Yet Napoleon's army was accustomed to something quite different. Crowds of, if not enthusiastic, then at least curious citizens. This was the case in all the capitals of Europe. But in Moscow – no one! As one of Napoleon's adjutants later wrote, it was then that they began to realize they would lose the war to this people. Empty streets, cawing crows, smiles fading from the French faces. Napoleon's adjutant, Michel Clément, marches on Moscow with a personal goal: to avenge a distant Russian ancestor, whom Tsar Vasily III locked in the Kremlin Tower and starved to death. He hates Russians, considering them barbarians. In the Kremlin, he encounters the few remaining monks of the Chudov Monastery, who have decided to... kill the Antichrist, that is, Napoleon himself. They are joined by a young girl, Maria, who has infiltrated the Kremlin and is obsessed with vengeance for her dead brother. She falls in love with Michel Clément, who is unaware of her true intentions.

Most of you know that I pretty much raised myself as a child reading famous classics, and Russian ones were among my favourites, especially Pushkin! His legendary and only completed novel THE CAPTAIN'S DAUGHTER (Капитанская дочка) is being adapted into an eight part series and today I have the first images from the sets for you! The series will stream on Russian streamer Kion and will have its linear TV premiere on their national broadcaster Rossiya 1!

 WHAT IS THE STORY?

By the decision of his father, the sixteen-year-old nobleman Peter Grinev (Oleg Savostyuk) instead in the capital's guard goes to serve in theBelogorsk fortress. On the way during a fierce blizzard, he meets an unfamiliar Cossack - Emelian Pugachev (Evgeny Tkachuk) Not knowing who it is, Grinev, touched by pity and simplicity of the heart, shares with him his oath to elope. Arriving in the fortress, Peter falls in love with the daughter of commandant Masha (Evgenia Leonov) His feeling turns out to be mutual. However, Petya has a rival – Alexey Schwabrin (Yegor Koreshkov), a lieutenant, decorated and exiled to the Belogorsk because of a duel. From jealousy, Schwabrin tries to harm Grinev with all his might. Meanwhile, Pugachev declares himself Emperor Peter the Third, miraculously saved from death, and gathers a motley army. The Pugachev uprising is rapidly gaining strength, the rebels take one fortress after another. The capture of the Belogorsk fortress by the army of Pugachev will turn the fate of Grinev and Masha. They must chose between honor or life, bitter adulthood and sacrifice for the sake love. Our dear Sergey Bezrukov plays the role of Grinev's father.

THE STORY 

The Snegirev family is preparing to celebrate the New Year together for the last time, after which Anfisa and Igor will tell their son Romka about their divorce. On the way to a sad holiday, the Snegirevs' car falls into a parallel world, and the heroes accidentally free the evil wizard Kolotun from captivity, and Romka steals the power of a magical artifact - the Chronotron. Now, in order to save Romka, the New Year and the future of both worlds, the Snegirevs will have to fight Kolotun, the lord of frost and ice.

Even if you have not read the story, which would be weird given that it is one of Russia's most famous fairy tales, you have probably seen the famous painting by Illya Repin of the beloved underwater tale, but now we also have the first images from the big screen movie adaptation of SADKO(Садко). The tale was previously turned into a classic movie back in 1953. The new film is set to hit theatres in March 2028. Ivan Oganesov is directing this marvelous sea adventure. The new version will have a musical tone to it as well. I will post a trailer as soon as we get one.

THE STORY OF THE FILM FOLOWS

 legendary gusli player Sadko, who, penniless but with his gusli slung over his shoulder, returns to Veliky Novgorod, the ever bustling seafaring and trade capital of Old Russia, after long wanderings. By chance, he meets Princess Lyubava and immediately falls in love. However, evil lady Glafira forces the girl to marry the wealthy tsar for a large ransom. To win his beloved's hand, Sadko makes a deal with the Sea King down in the Kingdom of the Sea. 

 WHO WILL BE IN THE CAST?

 Back in November I told you that young  Anton Rogachev was set as the lead next to Anna Peresild as the princess and Nikolai Valuev, who has been cast as a troll. Nikita Kologrivy and Elizaveta Ishchenko will play a battle sailor Buslai and a warrior Randgrid. The cast will also include Yuri Stoyanov, Roman Vasiliev, Kristina Babushkina, Alexey Dmitriev, Robert Zakharyan, Alina Babenko and other actors.

Straight from matushka Russia we have a colourful new trailer for their new big screen movie on famous legend of RUSLAN AND LYUDMILA  (Руслан и Людмила. Волшебное путешествие) which  finished production last Autumn with the cast toplined by young Ruzil Minekaev and Alena Dolgolenko in the title roles! As you know Russians are the biggest producers of historical series and films having had a very rich history, so you will not be surprised to hear that yet another one is being shot, but this one going into their deeper past. EASTERN ROAD (Восточная дорога) will be set in the Ryurik era leading us from Ladoga to Byzantium. The eight part series will take us to the Viking Age, the figure of Prince Ryurik and the birth of Russian statehood. The story is set in the 9th century, when the river route from Europe to Byzantium was under the control of the Scandinavians-Russ, who collected tribute from the surrounding tribes. At the center of these turbulent events isLadoga, where Ryurik rules. Against the background of the clash of interests of the interests of the Russians and the Slavs, there are changes that are destined to determine the fate of huge lands. The latest of the mesmerizing Russian fairy tales to be adapted for the big screen is SCARLETT FLOWER (Аленький цветочек) which is set to star Ksenia Traister, Ivan Yankovsky, Gerda Pugachev, Sergey Bezrukov, Seraphim Goschanskaya, Konstantin Plotnikov and Julia Snigir slated to arrive to cinemas January 1st, 2028! Inspired by Sergei Aksakov's classic novel, the plot follows a merchant's daughter as she finds herself trapped in the castle of an enchanted monster prince, whose salvation depends entirely on her. I have to admit that the original animated movie from 1952 was my favourite film during my childhood.

Beside the information that one of our dearest Russian actors Danila Kozlovsky and legendary Russian movie maker and director Fyodor Bondarchuk are preparing an epic movie adaptation of famous fairy tale 12 MONTHS about a young girl who is forced by her greedy stepmother and stepsister to fetch spring violets, summer strawberries, and autumn apples during the absolute dead of winter, what I'm also bringing to you from my visit to Russia today is a trailer and images from new eight part fantasy series ENCHANTED (Очарованные) which will air on their streamer Kinopoisk sometime later this year.

 THE STORY IS SET IN

 the quiet town of Iskra, where people are unaware of the presence of otherworldly forces, and where two sorceress sisters live. They are twins, but  very different. Zlata, an excellent student, is destined to inherit her mother's role as guardian of the boundary between the human and shadow worlds. But Marya doesn't know what to become. She doesn't just want to memorize spells; she dreams of living a human life full of connection.
