NEW TV SERIES ADAPTATION IMAGES FROM NETFLIX

With Florence Pugh and Christopher Abbott in the lead roles, Netflix has announced October 1st as the streaming date for their new  EAST OF EDEN mini series adaptation of Steinbeck's classic novel produced by Zoe Kazan, whose grandad Elia directed the original film! Also starring in the new series adaptation are Ciaran Hinds, Mike Faist (in the role originally played by James Dean) and Hoon Lee. 

WHAT IS THE SERIES ABOUT?

 Set in California’s Salinas Valley over a period that stretches from the Civil War to the end of World War I, the epic novel tells the interconnected stories of the Hamilton family, an Irish immigrant family with nine children, and the Trask family, lead by the wealthy Adam Trask (to be played by Abbott in the seven part series). The story eventually narrows its focus to center around the Trask family and the drama surrounding Adam, his wife Cathy and their sons Cal and Aron. We have first trailer for a new series that is hitting Apple TV + April 11th. YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS has already been ordered for the second season as well with Jon Hamm playing a disgraced hedge fund manager still grappling with his recent divorce, who starts robbing his affluent neighbors in order to keep his family living to the standard to which they've become accustomed. These petty crimes begin to reinvigorate him until he breaks into the wrong house at the wrong time. Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Aimee Carrero and Amanda Peet also star.

I have first images from two new shows for you today, starting with NBC's GROSSE POINTE GARDEN SOCIETY which will follow four members of a suburban garden club, all from different walks of life, who get caught up in murder and mischief as they struggle to make their conventional lives bloom. Ben Rappaport is Brett, cool in a threadbare kind of way, he put his own dreams of starting a car restoration business on hold so his wife (now ex-wife) could finish law school. Melissa Fumero is Birdie. Entitled, rich, swathed in Chanel, a smoker, a drinker, self-destructive at times, toxic at others, but not without real pain beneath her facade. Aja Naomi King plays Catherine, an unhappily married mother of two younger children, a realtor who works off some of her loneliness with a very juicy secret. Matthew Davis is Joel, a police officer whom Birdie takes an interest in. Anna Sophia Robb is Alice, your favorite high school English teacher, a dreamer whose best dreams are crashing down on her. Apple TV + is rounding up the cast for their new drama series YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBOURS in which Jon Hamm stars as Coop, a recently divorced hedge fund manager who, after being fired, resorts to stealing from the wealthy residents in his tony upstate New York suburb in order to keep his family’s lifestyle afloat. These petty crimes begin to reinvigorate him until he breaks into the wrong house at the wrong time. Our dear Hoon Lee has joined the cast which also has Olivia Munn, Amanda Peet, Mark Tallman, and Lena Hall.

Dominique Maher as Catherine Archer, a political booster who takes an interest in Mayor Buckley; Neels Claasen as Benjamin Atwood, the newly-appointed Chief of the San Francisco Police; Sean Marco as Stewart Gumm, Mayor Buckley’s conniving right-hand man; Jazzara Jaslyn as Eliza Pendleton, a wealthy socialite who takes an interest in Mai Ling; Colin Moss as Franklin Thayer, a charismatic candidate for San Francisco Mayor; Sizo Mahlangu as Isaac, the ruthless lieutenant to Happy Jack and a notorious Barbary Coast gangster. Season two ended in December 2020, so it has been a very long wait, but although the series had modest viewings in linear airing, it reached legendary numbers when both seasons started streaming on HBO Max, so the third season was ordered, with possible fourth coming our way too!
