After she scored worldwide fame with her Fourth Wing fantasy saga Rebecca Yarros has a new book PECULIAR STARS set for November release into the bookshops, but it has already been sold to Apple TV for a TV series adaptation. In the romantic novel, after a cyclone strands a young woman on a deserted island for 543 days with a member of her fiancé’s family, survival upends everything she thought she knew about love. But when they’re finally rescued and re-enter their world of privilege, expectation and secrets, homecoming proves far more dangerous than the island they left behind. Her Fourth Wing saga will also be turned into series but over at Prime Video.

Although we all thought it finished for good after the rather lukewarm third season which gave an impression of the writers being quite lost in their efforts, Apple TV has decided to bring their most popular comedy series back and we can expect TED LASSO to return with the fourth season August 5th and we have the first teaser as well. The main catch: this time: Jason Sudeikis, who is back as Ted, is back to help the Richmond soccer club owner Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) training an all female football team! Brett Goldstein as Roy and the rest of the old crew should be all back when the new season returns this summer three years after the series ended. Jack Burditt (Modern Family, 30 Rock) has been added to the creative team as a new producer. In the new season, our beloved coach leaves behind the players he'd won over to his side, and turns his attention to Richmond's women's team. The change represents his biggest challenge yet as he again hopes to turn around their fortunes, lifting them out of the second division and propelling them towards glory. Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would. His son, Henry (Grant Feely) is also back, now much older, and so are Jeremy Swift (as Leslie Higgins) and Juno Temple (as Keeley Jones).

Rhys’ Mayor Tom Loftisis a no-nonsense single dad forced to deal with his town’s superstitious citizens who believe it’s cursed as he is desperately trying to put the area on the map as the next Nantucket. Apple TV Plus has released a trailer and July 15th starting date for their new limited series LUCKY executive produced by Reese Witherspoon. Drew Starkey and Anya Taylor Joy will lead the cast that will also have Annette Bening, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Timothy Olyphant. Based on Marissa Stapley’s bestselling novel it centers on a young woman (Taylor-Joy) who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago, but must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past. She is forced to go on the run when a multi-million-dollar heist goes sideways. Pursued by both the FBI and a ruthless crime boss (Bening), Lucky must fight for her life — and a way out. Starkey will play Cary, Lucky’s husband.

Apple TV + has prepared new thriller TV series CAPE FEAR with Amy Adams andour dearest Patrick Wilson alongside Javier Bardem. It has been announced today that  the new series will stream from June 5th this year starting with two episodes and then continue weekly. The ten episode series is based on John D. MacDonald novel “The Executioners”which has been previously adapted a couple of times but for the big screen. The plot of the new series: a storm is coming for happily married attorneys Anna (Amy Adams) and Tom Bowden (Patrick Wilson) when Max Cady (Javier Bardem), a notorious killer from their past, gets out of prison and he wants vengeance. Martin Scorsese and Steven Spileberg are producing.

Apple TV Plus released a trailer last week for their new action movie THE LOST BUS which will drive into selected cinemas September 19th before hitting the streamer on October 3rd with Matthew McConaughey in the lead role. 

IN THE FILM 

 directed by Academy Award nominee Paul Greengrass and inspired by real events, we will follow a white-knuckle ride through one of America’s deadliest wildfires, as a wayward school bus driver (Matthew McConaughey) and a dedicated school teacher (America Ferrera) battle to save 22 children from the terrifying inferno. The film will also be at Toronto International Film Festival this year.

Jack Lowden will lead the new series

According to Screen Daily, our dearest boy Jack Lowden will, beside shooting the seventh season of Slow Horses, also lead a TV series adaptation of METROPOLIS, the final novel in the Berlin Noir novel series by Philip Kerr. He wrote 14 novels in the series before he died in 2018. Tom Shankland, who recently helmed The Leopard saga for Netflix, is directing the period set drama for Apple TV Plus. The series focuses on the character of detective Bernie Gunther. METROPOLIS, set in 1928, tells the origin story of Gunther, a police officer newly promoted to the elite Berlin Murder Squad who must investigate what seems to be a serial killer targeting victims on the fringes of society.

It stars one of Egypt's biggest stars Yaser Galal and it follows Scheherazade who, in order to rid Shahryar of his bloodthirsty nature, begins to weave the threads of a story about the Egyptian Gawdar, whose fate was predetermined even before his birth. Currently shooting in Nepal for Apple TV, it revolves around sherpa Tenzing Norgay (Phuntsok) and his summiting of Mount Everest in 1953 alongside New Zealander Edmund Hillary (Tom Hiddleston). Willem Dafoe will paly English expedition leader Colonel John Hunt, while Caitriona Balfe will play Jill Henderson, a friend of Tenzing. Thinley Lhamo rounds out the cast as Dawa, Tenzing’s wife.

Apple TV Plus is rounding up cast for their new heist series 12 12 12 which unfolds across three timelines of a heist: the 12 months of planning, the 12 hours of the heist, and the 12 days following the heist. The series follows a disgraced FBI agent (Anthony Mackie) and an American career criminal (Jamie Dornan) who play a zero-sum game of cat and mouse across Europe. At the center of it all is the daring, epic raid on a bank vault deep beneath the streets of Zurich. Jack Kesy will play Dornan's brother also involved in the heist according to Deadline.

Apple TV Plus has finished production on a ten episode sf series last year out of Martha Wells' award winning MURDERBOT book series with Alexander Skarsgard as the lead and are ready to start streaming it from May 16th and today you can see the first trailer! I have to admit I did not expect it will look so bad and parodic, definitely giving it a big skip. He will play a self-hacking security android who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable “clients.” Murderbot must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe.

Apple TV + has opened the new week with the first image of Jason Momoa in his epic new series CHIEF OF WAR and the start date set for August 1st when it will launch with first two episodes and then continue weekly.  The series depicts the unification and colonization of Hawai’i from an indigenous point of view with Momoa playing warrior Ka’iana, as he tries to unify the islands before Western colonization in the late 18th century. You can also check Apple TV trailer teasing everything that is coming up to the streamer including a few epic scenes from Chief of War.

YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS has already been ordered for the second season as well with Jon Hamm playing a disgraced hedge fund manager still grappling with his recent divorce, who starts robbing his affluent neighbors in order to keep his family living to the standard to which they've become accustomed. These petty crimes begin to reinvigorate him until he breaks into the wrong house at the wrong time. Olivia Munn, Hoon Lee, Aimee Carrero and Amanda Peet also star.
