Set for January 2026 release over in Russia is family fantasy movie adventure BURATINO based on the famous story of Pinocchio from director 
Igor Voloshin with Aleksandr Yatsenko as Papa Karlo and our dear Aleksandr Petrov lending voice to cat Bazilio with Fedor Bondarchuk as
Karabas Barabas. It will be an old fairy tale in a new way. The story
of everyone's favorite hero Pinocchio, his dad Carlo and their friends,
told with 
the help of modern technology. The film is based on Alexei Tolstoy’s
fairy tale “The Golden Key, or the Adventures of Pinocchio,” which
takes place in
the Kingdom of Tarabar following wooden doll Pinocchio,

I don't think I have ever watched Pinocchio though it's so famous.

DeleteLooks a bit wild, but still a bit enchanting. Definitely more interesting than the Disney version. I tried watching the last Pinocchio live action and ended up ditching in about 20 minutes in. I think it was set during WW1 or something like that, but it failed to hold my interest.
