BRENDA BLETHYN TO LEAD TV SERIES REBOOT

The original series from the 80s became their most watched drama ever and now Channel 4 has cast Brenda Blethyn to lead the reboot of A WOMAN OF SUBSTANCE  based on Barbara Taylor Bradford's novel with Jessica Reynolds playing the younger version. Story follows the tale of an impoverished, ambitious maid Emma Harte in Yorkshire who takes a dizzying climb to become the world’s richest woman, gazing down on her sprawling empire from a luxury New York penthouse. Emmett J Scanlan will star as Adam Fairley, Lydia Leonard as Olivia Wainwright, Leanne Best as Adele Fairley, Ewan Horrocks as Edwin Fairley, Harry Cadby as Gerald Fairley, Will Mellor as Jack Harte, Lenny Rush as Frank Harte, Niall Wright as Mac, Robert Wilfort as Murgatroyd, Toby Regbo as Jim Fairley, Hiftu Quasem as Priya Chandra, Sophie Bould as Elizabeth Harte and Georgina Sadler as Polly.

SETS QUITE A STELLAR ROYAL CAST

Mary Tudor will be played by Karen Gillan in new historical comedy FOOLS with Patsy Ferran as her court jester. Directed bu Guy Jenkin, the film is set in 1553. England’s first Queen, Mary I, takes the throne. The country is on the brink of chaos, and the ambitious Cardinal Pole (Jim Broadbent) plots to secure control. He has overlooked, however, a humble court-jester. The pious, and apparently humorless queen finds relief in her brilliant slapstick routines and they strike up an unlikely friendship. Brenda Blethyn will also star.
