ANTHONY HOPKINS JOINS LIAM HEMSWORTH IN "ARABIAN NIGHTS"
So, Anthony Hopkins will get naughty again. According to "MovieWeb" he is currently negotiating to play a villain in Chuck Russell's exotic adventure "Arabian Nights". Anthony Hopkins will play Pharotu, an evil sorcerer who killed Sinbad's love, a mermaid, and is looking to amass more magic for himself. As we have already reported, young Liam Hemsworth, the brother of Chris "Thor" Hemsworth, will play a young commander who, after his king is murdered in a coup, joins forces with Sinbad, Ali Baba and the Genie from the magic lamp to rescue the queen, Scheherazade. The shooting of this oriental epic should begin later this summer and the film will premier in 2011.

I'm looking forward to this. :) Most of us need more exotic adventures, even if they're only on screen.
ReplyDeleteyes, yes, especially since we can't really visit Iran, Iraq, Arabia as tourists, although I was thinking of visiting Morocco and Dubai last year :)
ReplyDeleteAnything Anthony Hopkins is attached to will definitely peak my interest, but it's been a few years since his last real hit film.
ReplyDeletehis downfall started with the doomed "Alexander", a movie which pretty much destroyed a lot of careers.
ReplyDeleteThese movies always travel in pairs...
ReplyDeletewhen it comes to epics and fantasy movies, I wish they would travel in dozens :)
ReplyDeleteHopkins is a great actor but I'm not sure with the director who did the lame "Scorpion King".
ReplyDeleteoh, I kinda liked SCORPION KING :) it was wonderfully trashy :)
