SF VIDEO GAME "MASS EFFECT" TO BE ADAPTED ONTO THE BIG SCREEN
According to "MovieWeb" Legendary Pictures, one of the producers of mega blockbusters such are "The Dark Knight", "300", "Clash of the Titans" and "Watchmen", has acquired film rights to the hit video game "Mass Effect" which they are planning to adapt together with Warner Bros. The popular epic science fiction series takes place in the year 2183 and follows Commander Shepard of the SS Normandy who leads a team on a mission to defeat an ancient alien race that invades the galaxy every 50,000 years, wiping out all organic life. The fast paced action-adventure "Mass Effect" video game has earned rave reviews from critics worldwide for its compelling characters and an engaging back story. So I guess we are getting a huge sf blockbuster scheduled for 2012.

ha! That's ridiculous. don't they know we'll all be dead in 2012?
ReplyDeleteseriously though, awesome. As long as it's more like 300 and less like Clash of the Titans in movie quality
No, Falsy, only the bad ones will disappear in 2012 :) Oh, wait, then we naughty ones should be afraid ..... :(((
ReplyDeleteBut we do need more sf action especially the big budgeted one!
Yes, less Clash, more 300.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it !

I've almost beat Mass Effect, it's a great game. I wonder if they will incorporate characters from the sequel, if so Yvonne Strahovski would have a role since her voice and likeness is used in the second game. Hopefully it will be live action as well and not animated.
ReplyDeleteGlad you all like it people, I knew there were quite a lot of video-game addicts out there :) I'll post new info about the project as soon as I get it.
ReplyDeleteMass Effect 1 & 2 are amazing. I hope they keep the tight storytelling and don't try to just cash in on the game's brand recognition.
ReplyDeleteDamn, this is awesome news!¨The game was great, haven't played second part though...
ReplyDeleteOh, more excited people :) Glad you are anxious about the MASS EFFECT movie, Jaccsy and Perin.
ReplyDeleteMass Effect already had many of the SciFi fan-favorites doing the voice acting for the game. I doubt they could assemble such a crew for live-action movie.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see this one made, however.
yes, we can always use more sf blockbusters :)
ReplyDeletenisam igrao ali cuo sam da je odlican :)
ReplyDeleteLoved both games! They were better than many books I've read. I'm not sure about a screen adaptation, though. They're bound to make Shepard a guy, but I played a girl version, so I won't be able to picture it any other way.
