ROBERT RODRIGUEZ TO MAKE LIVE ACTION ADVENTURE "FIRE AND ICE"
It seems that after losing the helm of "Red Sonia", Robert Rodriguez has find himself a new barbaric toy-project. In an interview for "Ain't It Cool News" he has revealed that he has bought the rights to the 1983 animated film "Fire and Ice". Since he controls the rights to the adaptation, he believes this time the movie won't get stalled for various reasons like some of his previous projects. "Fire and Ice" will be a live action adventure in which the story starts when a tiny village is destroyed by a surging glacier, which serves as the deadly domain for the evil Ice Lord, Nekron. The only survivor is a young warrior, Larn, who vows to avenge this act of destruction. The evil continues, however, as Nekron's palace of ice heads straight towards Fire Keep, the great fortress ruled by the good King Jarol. When Jarol's beautiful daughter, Teegra, is abducted by Nekron's sub-human ape-like creatures, Larn begins a daring search for her. What results is a tense battle between good and evil, surrounded by the mystical elements of the ancient past.

The cartoon version was - not good. Best thing was the Frazetta poster. Hope Rodriguez crafts a better movie.
ReplyDeleteI thought the animated "Fire and Ice" was very underrated and not as bad as everyone was saying. I enjoyed it and I'm glad there will be a live action version, especially knowing that the creative Rodriguez is behind the camera.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the cartoon, so I'm anxious to see the movie version, especially since it sounds like a space opera, and everybody knows it's my favourite movie genre :))
ReplyDeleteHe always picks such interesting projects!
