The Long Song looks so good. July looks like a character you're going to root for the whole way through. Just seeing her strong will and feisty attitude in the clip already has me loving her.
ReplyDeleteHope somebody will air it for you in the USA. I'm watching only for my Jacky Lowden! PS the third season of Last Kingdom is better than ever, watched the first episode last night.
DeleteI'm sure if it does well, maybe someone like PBS here will pick it up.
DeleteThat's great to know that Last Kingdom is starting off on a good note. I start losing interest in these types of shows around season 3 or 4, so fingers crossed the season finishes strong!
The cast is great as always, totally opposite of TWD.
DeleteI've never heard of that Herman Melville novel before. Clearly my education is inadequate!
ReplyDelete'tis because it is a novelette, Debs, a baby novel :)
DeleteI like the way Julie, the slave,is dressed: simple, comfortable, 'flattering' blouse and skirt - as opposed to Caroline, the white mistress, in a heavy, awkward dress.
ReplyDeleteThe poster with Julie standing on the background of the green plantation, is a lovely one.
imagine having to walk around the plantation in frills, lace and silk and white shoes and a hat.... such bother...
DeleteWhat Theresa said. Plus where's our ticket to Jamaica?
ReplyDeleteis it really safe there?
DeleteA bottle of rum and we'll be fine.
Deleteisn't one supposed to get that there?
