'THE BOYS' SF SERIES
KARL URBAN & CHACE CRAWFORD IN AMAZON'S SUPERHERO SHOW
A poster and teaser trailer have been revealed for Amazon Prime's THE BOYS Karl Urban series which puts an ironic spin to super hero genre! To hit the small screens next year THE BOYS is set in a world where
superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame. It follows a group of vigilantes known informally as THE BOYS who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty.
The Boys arrive sometime next year |
The cast is led by Karl Urban as Billy Butcher who approaches Hughie
(Jack Quaid), claiming to be a shadowy government operative. Butcher
capitalizes on Hughie’s rage
over his girlfriend Robin’s accidental death at the hands of superhero
A-Train (Jesse T. Usher) and enlists Hughie as part of his plan to bring
down the Superhero franchise. The cast also has Chace
Crawford as
aquatic hero The Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Nathan Mitchell as
Black Noir, Dominique McElligott as Queen Maeve, Erin Moriarty as
Starlight who can make lightning bolts flash from her eyes and Karen
Fukuhara! Elisabeth Shue plays the PR of the Superheroes!
The Boys will try to bring down the superhero pests! |
The Boys does sound good!
ReplyDeleteI bet you liked the end of the trailer best!
DeleteNowadays, superheroes are to be found on the screen mainly, less in reality. The same applies to those squads of 'boys' that are supposed to fight the corrupt, evil superheroes.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about the american CIA. If it's true that russians interfered in the last general elections, where was the CIA or whatever they call themselves.
that probably happened only in the minds of US liberals and Hilary and Obama paid media :) They will blame anything on Putin. It would have been hilarious if it wasn't actually very sad.
DeleteOoh, that lady in the white on the end looks like She-rah! I loved that superhero way back in the day! Though this doesn't look like one I'll watch either, the costumes and characters do look fun!
ReplyDeleteWe did love She-rah and Sorceress Zoar of Greyskull too!
DeleteOh no.... more capes.
ReplyDeleteinstead of crepes
