'THE UNDOING' MINI SERIES
Here's an unusual small screen pairing for you: as Deadline reports, Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant will lead HBO's new six episode mini television series THE UNDOING an adaptation of Jean Hanff Korelitz’s book You Should Have Known! The limited series will follow Grace Sachs (Nicole Kidman), who is living the only life she ever wanted for herself. She’s a successful therapist, has a devoted husband pediatric oncologist (Hugh Grant) and young son who attends an elite private school in New York City. Overnight a chasm opens in her life: a violent death, a missing husband, and, in the place of a man Grace thought she knew, only a chain of terrible revelations. Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public
disaster, and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and herself.
Hugh Grant will suddenly disappear as an acclaimed oncologist and doting father |
'FLORA SANDES' MOVIE
ON SERBIAN WW1 HEROINE!
Flora Sandes has a street named after her in Serbia |
FLORA SANDES joined the ambulance unit and with a group of 36 women
set off for Serbia to try to aid brave Serbs who were dying in hundreds
of thousands under Austro Hungarian guns and also from typhus outbreak. After that she joined the
Serbian army as a private thanks to her impressive riding and shooting skills. She rose
through the Serbian ranks as the only female
officer in Serbian Army and was seriously wounded by a grenade in hand
to hand combat. Her injuries put an end to her combat in the war but she
remained near the front line to run a hospital. Later on she also wanted
to fight for Serbia in WW2 but was interned by Germans. She received
many medals from Serbia and is still fondly remembered there as a
national heroine and a street in Belgrade is named after her.
I do like the sound of Flora Sands!
ReplyDeleteshe was such a hero! We adore her here in my country. Sadly, she lost her husband in WW2 and moved home to UK after that.
DeleteNicole Kidman, Hugh Grant? Wow...
ReplyDeleteWW1? Wow!
Many good news today!
glad you're pleased with today's offer, Phillie!
DeleteI like your answer; You've got great humor.
DeletePhillie is my dearest Frenchman, Duta!
DeleteWhat a remarkable woman, that Flora Sandes! I'm sure the serbs consider her a national heroine, one of their own, and they probably did for her what they did for Tesla and other national figures (naming something important after her, statue, museum, etc..).
ReplyDeleteThe movie is good news for you as a proud serbian citizen. The serbian army and the british born serbian heroine on the screen will arouse a lot of interest.
We have a street in Belgrade named after her and she was also put on our national postal stamps.
DeleteThose were the long lost times when we were actually considered the heroes of Europe... now we're the main villains.... I'm sure you can relate with that.
The Undoing looks good and I like Nicole and Hugh. A movie made of Fora's life would also be pretty awesome!
ReplyDeleteAwesome possum!
DeleteFlora Sands sounds like a genuine badass. I love stories based on brave, gritty women. I can see why Serbia was so proud of her.
ReplyDeleteShe was so uber cool! I cannot believe the likes of her did not get a lady status from the queen but the likes of pop stars and actors get them every day!
DeleteOur world is so ass backward. But, what do you expect when here in the US our former president can pal around with admitted drug dealers and make it look uber cool and we have everyone itching to the the next YouTube sensation. It's sickening.
Deleteah, the good old friendship between Osama and Beyo's drug dealing convict husband :) I'm just about to get suffocated with Michelle's book promoting... I mean just the title of it is soooo freakin' pompous and vain, I cannot even believe it... At least you have lovely Melania to make you proud on foreign state visits. She was so lovely in Paris last weekend!
DeleteFlora Sandes sounds awesome.
ReplyDeleteShe was an uber cool lady!
