AMAZON TO MAKE BIBLICAL SERIES JOSEPH OF EGYPT, NETFLIX TO REBOOT SERIES LAND OF THE LOST

EPIC JOSEPH OF EGYPT AT AMAZON

Amazon MGM Studios will make a new Biblical series JOSEPH OF EGYPT with The Chosen creator Dallas Jenkins. It will be written and executive produced by Craig Wright. In the Book of Genesis, Joseph is the son of Jacob and Rachel who is sold into slavery in Egypt by his brothers. But his ability to successfully interpret the Pharaoh’s dreams, which saves Egypt from a terrible famine, earns him favor and position. Betrayed by jealous brothers, Joseph defies all expectations and rises to incredible power in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh. But when his past catches up with him, he is confronted with the ultimate test.

 

 LAND OF THE LOST AT NETFLIX

Meanwhile, their rival Netflx is ready to do another reboot of an old series after Little House in the Prairie. LAND OF THE LOST will be rebooted by the original creators Sid and Marty Crofft. The story centers on a father, Rick, and his two children who accidentally go through a portal and find themselves trapped in a world inhabited by dinosaurs, including a Tyrannosaurus rex they nickname Grumpy; primate-like people named Pakuni, one of whom, Cha-Ka, they befriend; and reptilian humanoids called Sleestak.

Although we mostly see him as an action hero, Alan Ritchson has just got himself a role in a drama: he will lead the movie adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' book COUNTING MIRACLES which is currently the  best selling title in USA and his 20th number one.

In the movie done at Amazon MGM Studios, Ritchson will play former Ranger who returns to his small hometown with one mission: to find the father he never knew. Ritchson is also doing WAR MACHINE sf epic over at Netflix which follows the final 24-hours of the world’s toughest selection program, as a team of Army Rangers encounter a threat beyond their imagination. Eric Roberts, Michael Ironside, Neil Stuke, David Schofield, Jeremy Neumark-Jones, and Genevieve Florence also star. The movie follows a profoundly spiritual man (Neumark-Jones) of Hungarian Castle Esztergom who must confront and halt the Great Mongolian Army led by Batu Khan, grandson of Ghengis Khan (Mongolian actor Bold Choimbol) from invading Europe in 1242. The story focuses on their unlikely meeting

While we have been enjoying all the epic delights Autumn brought us, from the mesmerisingly magnificent Rings of Power, fun and dynamic Serpent Queen, newly arrived The Empress and the upcoming return of Barbarians, we sort of forgot that the second season of THE WHEEL OF TIME epic series should arrive sometime soon as well. Not that the first season was overly memorable, if at all. But Prime Video has just released a second season teaser to remind us that it is coming back sometime next year. Good news is that there is eye candy in the teaser, mainly deliciously nekkid Daniel Henney as Lan Mandragoran who was, I admit, the sole reason I stuck with the dull first season till the end (not that I remember how it ended).

Since she lost her magic powers at the end of season 1, Rosamund Pike's mystic Moiraine will return to her hometown of Cairhien, a place of stifling traditions where everyone plays mind games, and in her despair will push away everyone who tries to help her, including her loyal Warder Lan, whose emotional connection to Moiraine has now been lost along with her magic. Well, I'm not sure when did Butch become black, but it seems Amazon does not care, and our sweet hunk Glen Powell will lead BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID western TV series together with Rege Jean Page who will be Butch. Ordered by Amazon for full series, it will be a classic western about outlaws in an alternate America. You probably remember the classic movie from 1969 starring Paul Newman as Butch and Robert Redford as Sundance.

And your epic treat for today are new photos from the second season of Russian historical series CATHERINE THE GREAT (Velikaya - not to be confused with their rival series CATHERINE II in which the tzarina was played by Marina Aleksandrova and which already had two seasons). Kinopoisk was the first to show new images with Elizabeth Boyarskaya in the role of older Catherine II from the sequel to the series "Catherine the Great". The first part, where Julia Snigir played the Empress, was released in 2015. Now the action takes place in 1763, the first year after the coronation of Catherine.  The series also stars Anton Khabarov (Grigory Orlov), Alexei Morozov (Gregory Potemkin), Pavel Vorozhtsov (Nikita Panin), Alexey Filimonov (Lev Naryshkin), Igor Gordin (Alexey Bestuzhev), Sofia Sinitsyna (Ekaterina Dashkova) and Philip Ershov (future Emperor Paul). Filming is currently taking place in palaces, parks and mansions of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region, as well as on the ship "Poltava". The project involves more than 560 historical costumes, which were sewn and rented in Spain and the Czech Republic. Mars Media is working on the 12-episode second season ordered by Russia's Channel One.

breaking 25 million people just on Friday, I will entertain you today with two period set movies from India, starting with RADHE SHYAM a romantic drama which aired in cinemas this March, but is available for streaming both on Prime Video and Netflix.

 

IN 1976 Vikramaditya, a palmist and disciple of Paramahamsa, predicts to Indian Prime Minsiter Indira Gandhi that soon she will declare emergency in the country. The prediction comes true and he becomes famous but has to leave the country never the less. Two years later Vikramaditya is a renowned palmist in Italy and loves to travel all over. He returns to his house after a long time to be with his mother and friend Vedant. During a train journey he meets Prerna and falls for her. Once Vikramaditya predicts future to a businessman Mahendra Rajput, for which he is not ready. His men chase him down the road where he ends up in an accident and lands in the hospital where Prerna works as a doctor. Vikramaditya and Prerna fall in love but her uncle asks her to stay away from him. Once while traveling in a train Vikramaditya finds that all passengers in it have short life and the train will have an accident. He tries to save them but in vain. Prerna starts to believe in his predictions and asks him to check her palm and collapses in his arms. Her uncle tells Adithya that Prerna is suffering from rare tumor and has few months to live. But Vikramaditya tells that he has seen Prerna's palm and that she has long life ahead and that his prediction have never gone wrong.

Set amid tension in 1980s India, this movie follows three friends of different faiths who unite in a noble yet dangerous effort to save hundreds in their town. The film depicts the riots that took place after the assassination of the third Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, by her Sikh bodyguard. After the incident, an Anti-Sikh Riot was started resulting in the death of 2,800 Sikhs in Delhi and 3,350 Sikhs nationwide! Popular Indian actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh leads the cast.
