1899 POSTERS FOR
NETFLIX PERIOD SET SERIES
When the story of your series is set on a super massive ocean ship stuck in the middle of the Atlantic, you can imagine the sets will be very expensive, and
such is exactly the case with Netflix' new spooky period set horror series 1899 which
is scheduled for streaming start from November 17th. The producers used brand new state of the art virtual production facility in Germany to depict the large ship. 75ft across and 23ft tall, with 4,500 sqft of shooting space, it is surrounded by a dynamic LED backdrop that is rendered in a video game engine in real-time, moving with the camera to simulate a realistic background and sky that creates the illusion of shooting outdoors. Because the whole process is captured in-camera, with effects added in real time, the technology eschews the need for
green screen and drastically reduces the post-production process.
The series will have eight episodes |

sea that had
gone missing for months, their journey takes an unexpected
turn and their voyage to the promised land becomes a journey into a
nightmare.
The series was shot mostly in Germany |

I am not into the horrors, but this one seems really exciting.
ReplyDeleteFirst it is very spooky and then towards the end of the trailer it becomes a full blown creepy horror.
DeleteYeah, I will have to check this out because I love the creepy feel.
ReplyDeleteI knew you would like it.
DeleteThis is so not for me! The trailer alone was hard for me to watch.. lol
ReplyDeleteSafe to say you will not step on a ship anytime soon.
DeleteLOL, nope!
DeleteMe, neither.
DeleteI'm with you and Jax. No stepping on ships for me. Jason wants to go on a cruise some day, but you know how I feel about open water. Nope.
