JOSH HUTCHERSON A NEW CANDIDATE FOR SPIDER-MAN!

Now that the casting mysteries around "Captain America" are over, we have obviously found a new casting puzzle in "Spider-Man". Since the rumors we mentioned last week about Logan Lerman getting the main role were proved to be incorrect, we off course have a new name for the new main candidate to play Spidy. According to IESB.net a new contender for the lead role in the "Spider-Man" reboot is Josh Hutcherson. As reports say, Josh Hutcherson hasn't signed anything yet, but he is on the studio's short list.
It's interesting that young Hutcherson is one the few teen actors I actually like. There's just something genuine in his presence, as we have seen in "A Bridge to Terabithia", "Journey to the Center of the Earth", "Cirque du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant"... He also appears in the Sundance movie "The Kids Are All Right", which opens in cinemas this July.

  1. I haven't seen any of his movies, but from what you say, he sounds like a fine fellow. I'm just a little skeptical about them making more Spiderman movies... and changing the lead actor so soon? I mean, it's not like Batman. The original movies were from the what, 80's? The last Spiderman just came out a couple years ago! It seems too rushed.

  2. Well, Kristin, studios have a new trend of rebooting movies in order to refresh them and possibly steal more money from the audience :) They did it with HULK, with BATMAN, and now SPIDERMAN, PLANET OF APES and maybe even DAREDEVIL are ready for reboots.

  3. Hmm... very hard to get excited by this reboot. Webb is talented, but the rumoured budget is very low and Sony don't have a solid trek record when it comes to directing the franchise - they were the ones who wanted Venom in Spider-Man III and wouldn't let Raimi make his own choices for the aborted Spider-Man IV. It's hard not to believe they didn't just hire a director they could simply push around more easily.

  4. Hey, Darren, welcome to HOLLYWOOD SPY, hope we'll be seeing you here often. Ah, you know what the studios are like - always looking to control their directors and the money they put into production.

  5. There have been too many Spider Man movies for me and I gave up watching them.
