I'm not holding my breath for this to be great, but the commercial looks more promising (granted there's not much too it) than I would have initially guessed. I'm still not convinced this won't be another Dragonball Evolution *shivers*.
ReplyDeleteWe shiver in fear together with you, Ryan :) although we are probably a bit more optimistic :)
ReplyDeleteThis will be years ahead of Dragonball, at least concerning script/story. Dragonball had like, a gazillion episodes, and no specific plan at the start. So they made a single film, loosely based on that "story". (They shouldn't have bothered, both with anime and film. But to each his own. Some people really like that show.)
ReplyDeleteThe Last Airbender will consist of three films, just like series consisted of three seasons. Basically, they already have scripts for this movie. They just need to adapt it a little.
This new video looks very nice. :)
I've always liked to fantasize about how it would've been nice if I'd had a power to control natural elements (that was always my pick when we played super heroes as kids), so I'm waiting for this one.
ReplyDeleteLooked amazing. So far, considering only the visual aspect, it meets my expectations.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious to see what Shyamalan has done with this, because with "The Last Airbender" he's out of his 'horror' comfort zone... It looks exactly my cup of tea... martial arts/special effects extravaganza! I'm excited about it!
ReplyDeleteyep, Neb, it really does look like your, not cup but a pot, of tea :))
