As 'Deadline' reports today, while she's waiting to see if GHOSTBUSTERS will flop or fly, Melissa McCarthy has another new project just signed: she will lead CAN YOU EVER FORGIVE ME? based on Lee Israel memoir.
Israel was a magazine writer and author in the 1970s and ’80s who
specialized in profiles of big name entertainment figures. But when the
work dried up, she turned to selling letters she had forged from dead
writers and actors, and eventually she began stealing actual letters
from various archives before she was arrested in 1993. She is no longer
alive.
MICHAEL CAINE, MATTHEW GOODE, BILL NIGHY LEAD THE CAST
We mentioned our dear Brit Matthew Goode yesterday, but here he is
again: he will join Michael Caine and Bill Nighy in big screen
adaptation of E. Nesbit's FOUR CHILDREN AND IT
The story follows four
children who are horrified to learn that their beach holiday is in fact a
bonding trip with their potential future step siblings. During an
argument, they accidentally find a magical, sandy, grumpy creature
called the Psammead (voiced by Caine) who can grant them one wish a day —
only to see the wish cancelled as soon as the sun sets. The kids must
learn to work together and choose their wishes wisely as an evil villain
(Nighy) tries his best to steal the Psammead for himself.

the sequel title describes the historical period stretching from the end
of the most recent ice age to the current day.

'GUERNICA' TRAILER WITH
JAMES D'ARCY & JACK DAVENPORT
Earlier this year I've shown you an international trailer for Spanish epic movie GUERNICA and now we have the English language one starring James D'Arcy, Jack Davenport and Maria Valverde. Out currently in Spain, it follows the fates of Henry - a cynical American correspondent who has lost his soul - and Teresa, one
of the Republic's censors and in charge of overseeing the news that
journalists can send abroad, which cross in Gernika.
We're going sf today, starting with the first trailer for August movie THE SPACE BETWEEN US in which NASA sends astronauts to be the first to live on Mars not knowing that one of them is pregnant and gives birth without revealing who the father is. NASA didn’t tell anyone about it — for 16 years. Now he’s a teenager (Asa Butterfield) who has been raised by scientists and has met fewer than 15 people in his life but is hip to what Earth is and “knows it’s all going on without him.” He also has developed an online relationship with an Earthling girl (BrittRobertson) in Colorado. After being brought back to Earth, he is put through tests but he escapes in order to find the girl. Just one thing: His romantic heart “can’t handle our gravity.” Gary Oldman and Carla Gugino also star!
NEW POSTERS ARE IN FOR
INDEPENDENCE DAY RESURGENCE
Meanwhile, a bunch of stunning new posters has been revealed for the anticipated sequel INDEPENDENCE DAY RESURGENCE which arrives to cinemas June 24th starring Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pulman directed by Roland Emmerich!
WE ALWAYS KNEW THEY WERE COMING BACK Twenty years after the events of the first film, the international
community recovers and the United Nations creates the Earth Space
Defence (ESD), a united global defence program that serves as Earth's
early warning system and the main defence force using technology
salvaged from remains of the alien forces, with some military forces
assembled on the Moon, Mars and Rhea. However, the aliens were able to
send a distress signal to their other battalions before their final
defeat while others went into hiding elsewhere around the world. The
aliens in deep space received the signal and sent a larger and more
powerful battle fleet, threatening the human race once more, this time,
with a gravitational machine.

the earth from a terrifying loss of gravity.
'BEAUTY AND THE BEAST'
TEASER IS JUST TEASING
Disney has released the first trailer for their new version of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST but don't expect much since it only reveals the enchanting settings and not much more. Hitting theatres next March, it will boast heaps of British thespians in the cast from our beloved hunks Dan Stevens, Luke Evans and Ewan McGregor to acting legends Emma Thompson, IanMcKellen, Kevin Kline and Stanley Tucci who will all sing about tale as old as time!
Full trailers have been released this week for ABC's freshly ordered new historical shows. Starting with their sequel to Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet STILL STAR CROSSED, which will hit the small screens probably in the mid season and smells like a potential flop, if you ask me, because of the rather poor casting - I just don't see any charisma nor star power in Lashana Lynch especially not in a love story like this. It also stars magnetic Wade Briggs as Benvolio Montague, Anthony Head as Lord Capulet, Zuleikha Robinson as Lady Capulet, Sterling Sulieman as Prince Escalus, Medalion Rahimi as Princess Isabella, Grant Bowler as Damiano Montague, Torrance Coombs as Paris and Dan Hildebrand as Friar Lawrence.
16TH CENTURY VERONA
STILL STAR
CROSSED is set in 16th century Verona charting the treachery,
palace intrigue and ill-fated romances of the Montagues and Capulets in
the wake of the young lovers’ tragic fate. The story will revolve around Rosaline (Lashana Lynch), Juliet’s cousin who is taken
in by the Capulets after her parents die, forced to suffer her aunt's
cruelty as a servant, and then ordered to marry dangerous and deadly
handsome Benvolio (WadeBriggs), a Montague!
'TIME AFTER TIME' SERIES
YOUNG H.G.WELLS ADVENTURES
On the other hand, another of ABC's freshly ordered new shows will have modern times mixed with history! TIME AFTER TIME will chronicle the epic adventures of young H.G. Wells (Freddie Stroma) who travels through time chasing Jack the Ripper (Josh Bowman)
who, in our day, is a brilliant and charismatic surgeon. Upon arriving
in modern New York, he is captivated by museum curator Jane Walker (Genesis Rodriguez). Pop star Jordin Sparks will play a New York stylist Jesse Givens who is also Jane Walker’s roommate, while Regina Taylor will play a billionaire who owns and protects the Time Machine. It is based on the novel written by Karl Alexander.
Well, this is shaping up to be the best superhero movie cast ever, seriously: it has been revealed that Cate Blanchett will officially join Chris Hemsworth's THOR: RAGNAROK as the powerful nemesis Hella, Asgardian goddess of death, while our beloved Karl Urban will be Skurge (Thor's Asgardian enemy wielding a double bladed axe, one of the Masters of Evil)! Jeff Goldblum will be the eccentric Grandmaster (a master of all games of skill and chance, a member of the Elders of the Universe), Tessa Thompson will play mighty warrior Valkyrie, while Mark Ruffalo will again be the Hulk! Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role of Loki, IdrisElba of Asgardian sentry Heimdall, while Anthony Hopkins is again the ruler of Asgard, Odin! You can also check out the first concept art photo from the film out November next year.

Jackson-Cohen is Lucas, her love interest. Joely Richardson is Glinda

Well, ITV has really given us a lot of great new shows this year, and we're still expecting some others to air till the end of the year, but it seems they're trying to repeat the success of BBC's WAR AND PEACE by adapting another massive, albeit not at all that deep, classic. Rumour has it that they're preparing 10 million pounds worth six episode epic series on Thackeray's VANITY FAIR. The same production house that did POLDARK is preparing the 19th century story of a girl of lowly origins who climbs up the social ladder by using her charms and wit to manipulate and seduce and gain financial and social security. Opulent sets and lavish costumes are to be expected! The studio, as Mirror reports, apparently wants stars like EmiliaClarke and Natalie Dormer for the role.
'WILL' TRAILER
FOR NEW EPIC TV SERIES
And here's a new series freshly ordered for a 10 episode season by TNT we're looking forward too: Shekhar Kapur directed WILL, the wild story (with a modern soundtrack) of young William Shakespeare’s (Laurie Davidson) arrival onto the punk-rock 16th century London theatre scene where his raw talent faced rioting audiences, religious fanatics and raucous side-shows!
PUNK ROCK WILL Attracted to Will’s naïve genius is Alice Burbage (Olivia DeJonge), the daughter of James Burbage (Colm Meaney),
the carpenter with a vision to build the first theatre in London since
Roman times. Despite being the daughter of an impresario, Alice is
forbidden by society from pursuing a career in the theatre. Her brother
Richard Burbage (Mattias Inwood), is innately talented, but too
much in love with himself and prone to overact. A chance encounter at
the theatre leads him to team up with Will in what would soon become the
greatest actor-writer partnership the world has ever seen. Rounding out
Will’s cast of characters are playwright, poet and chief Shakespeare
rival Christopher Marlowe (Jamie Campbell Bower) and wealthy and notorious law enforcer Richard Topcliffe (Ewen Bremner).
