Now here's a delicious or shall I say thorlicious treat for you today: the first look at THOR: RAGNAROK epic adventure from the cover of the brand new 'EW' offering the first images of Chris Hemsworth in the lead role of the Asgardian hero and Cate Blanchett as the main villainess Hela, Goddess of Death freed from a prison after a whole millennia and ready to wreck some galactic havoc! As you can see the Norse prince and hero has a brand new haircut too, ready to fight not only Hela, but also the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) when they find themselves on a desolate planet called Sakaar where he ends up as a gladiator thanks to Hela's revenge. He gets surrounded there by all sorts of people with super powers who can easily match his abilities. The cover also shows Tessa Thompson as Asgardian warrior Valkyrie controversially portrayed by a Black woman even though she's a blonde Viking. Well, this is shaping up to be the best superhero movie cast ever, seriously: it has been revealed that Cate Blanchett will officially join Chris Hemsworth's THOR: RAGNAROK as the powerful nemesis Hella, Asgardian goddess of death, while our beloved Karl Urban will be Skurge (Thor's Asgardian enemy wielding a double bladed axe, one of the Masters of Evil)! Jeff Goldblum will be the eccentric Grandmaster (a master of all games of skill and chance, a member of the Elders of the Universe), Tessa Thompson will play mighty warrior Valkyrie, while Mark Ruffalo will again be the Hulk! Tom Hiddleston will reprise his role of Loki, Idris Elba of Asgardian sentry Heimdall, while Anthony Hopkins is again the ruler of Asgard, Odin!  You can also check out the first concept art photo from the film out November next year.

Star Trek stories are very in these days especially with hot rumours that Nathan Fillion might be playing the new captain in new STAR TREK TV series starting next January at CBS, but today we have the second trailer for STAR TREK BEYOND movie out this July!

In STAR TREK BEYOND, the intrepid Enterprise crew explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a mysterious new enemy who puts them and everything the Federation stands for to the test. The cast is again lead by Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Zachary Quinto, Anton Yelchin and Idris Elba as the new villain, with Sofia Boutella as alien warrior Jaylah!

Probably the biggest piece of movie news to end this week is the one about Marvel wanting Cate Blanchett for THOR 3: RAGNAROK! Although it hasn't been revealed which of the leading female roles she would take it is known that it would be a very strong character. There were rumours before that it could be for one of the great villains, either Amora the Enchantress or Hela Queen of the Dead. Or it could also be Valkyrie! The good news is that the light of our lives Tom Hiddleston is returning to the role of Loki alongside Chris Hemsworth as Thor himself and Mark Ruffalo's Hulk. Outside INDIANA JONES and LORD OF THE RINGS, Cate Blanchett (who got SAG & Golden Globe nominations this week for her role in CAROL) never took roles in expensive movies of this type. Taika Waititi (What We Do In The Shadows) directs.

WHAT ELSE IS CATE DOING  
Outside, this possible project, Cate Blanchett will do two voice roles! She will again lend her voice to Hiccup's mother Dragon Queen Valka in HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON III next to Gerard Butler, which is set for summer 2018 release, but before that she will do a little bit of hissing as snake Kaa in JUNGLE BOOK: ORIGINS set for 2017 together with Christian Bale!

In this weekend's superhero updates, beside the info from Fox who have officially greenlit GAMBIT spinoff movie with Channing Tatum in the lead role (after being played by Taylor Kitsch in WOLVERINE, he will be played by Channing in X MEN APOCALYPSE and in the solo movie), good news come for all the mighty fans of always magnificent Tom Hiddleston! According to Marvel's Kevin Feige, his Loki will appear both in THOR: RAGNAROK (scheduled for 2017) and in both parts of  AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (2018 and 2019)! He will appear in AVENGERS because his sceptre has one of the Infinity Stones in it and once it is placed in the Infinity Gauntlet it will set off havoc for the band of superheroes to deal with.

'PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES'

Now, I don't really follow them pirates on the big screen (after HARRY PLOPPER, they make me fall asleep the most), but the hunt for the young lead in PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES has started! Disney is currently sending invitations to tones of Hollywood's young heartthrobs to come and do tests for the role of Henry who will join Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow in the new adventures. According to first rumours and 'Deadline', currently heading for auditions are: Taron Egerton ('Kingsman: The Secret Service'), George Mackay ('Pride') and Brenton Thwaites ('Gods of Egypt', 'The Giver', 'Maleficent'), Mitchell Hope ('Descendants‘), Ansel Elgort ('The Fault In Our Stars') and Sam Keeley ('In The Heart Of The Sea').
