"Entertainment Weekly" has just published a lot of new pictures from next year's most anticipated epic TV series GAME OF THRONES. Based on the famous fantasy saga by George R.R. Martin, this new TV series will depict a stunning mythical land of Westeros in which seven noble families fight for power. The primary families are the Stark, Lannister, and Baratheon families. Robert Baratheon, King of Westeros, asks his old friend Eddard Stark to serve as his chief advisor. Eddard, suspecting that his predecessor had been murdered, accepts so that he can investigate further. It turns out more than one family is plotting to take the throne. The Queen's family, the Lannisters, may be hatching an incestuous plot to take control.
Across the sea, the last surviving members of the previously deposed ruling family, the Targaryens, are also plotting a return to power. The conflict between these families and others, including the Greyjoys, the Tullys, the Arryns, and the Tyrells, leads to war. Meanwhile, in the north, an ancient evil awakens. Amidst war and the political confusion, a brotherhood of misfits, The Night's Watch, is all that stands between the realms of men and the horrors beyond. The cast is lead by Sean Bean, Jason Momoa, Mark Addy and Lena Headey.
Earlier this year we've heard rumors that the producers were absolutely amazed by the pilot episodes, and that the programme will be full of action, epic battles, stunning sets, thrilling costumes and that there will also be a lot of steamy erotic scenes :) You can also remind yourselves of the GAME OF THRONES teaser trailer I've posted back in September.

  1. Woot! Great series, and this looks awesome!

  2. It does, it does, don't forget to check out the trailer as well if you haven't earlier this Autumn.

  3. It looks like a cool series, based on this! I'll go check out the trailer . . .

  4. That looks so hot! A series like this is my crack! ;)

  5. There's a lot more than seven noble families vying for the throne...or any the story. Plus, the Lannisters "incestuous" part isn't actually part of the plot to gain access to the throne. It's more of a...plot twist...we'll say. It's all pretty convoluted and, for the most part, well written. Martin himself (who has been a writer for a lot of Hollywood projects in the past) is a chief part of the production crew, so things actually have to get his thumbs up to be included, changed, or, I assume, even made. And he's pretty detail-oriented.

I just hope that, at some point, he finishes this series and doesn't end up dying like Robert Jordan did, leaving his fans in the lurch. Not that you can compare the two series, to be honest, other than that they're long, multi-volume stories.

  6. Looks like they've gone all out with the costumes and sets!

And I share MJenk's final observation.

  7. Oh man! I need to read these books. I don't want to see the shows first, even though they do look awesome.

  8. DEZMOND - Hi! This series looks amazing. Can't wait to see what it's all about.

  9. This all sounds rather prententious to me. I'm not really into fantasy and would prefer something more realistic. I'm thinking in terms of something like a massive apocalyptic world disaster that causes a warp in the fabric of time that plays havoc, sending cowboys and dinosaurs into Roman Times where they all have to join together to battle space aliens who are zombies, vampires, and werewolves; and in the end the Earth is saved by the air force of China which has taken over the modern world in the near future and used their advance technologies to destroy the invading forces of Roman times, then the Red Chinese leader marries Red Riding Hood and they all live happily for a short while until the sequel comes out. That's what I'm thinking-- something that's realistic and believeable.

    Tossing It Out

  10. I remember the trailer. The series should be popular.

  11. Oh man, that show is going to be awesome! Not gonna lie, so very stoked for this. Can't wait!

  12. @Eagle
yep, check out the trailer as well

    crack - he he he .... /naughtysmiley/

yes, Martin has the control over his work, and I totally understand him. It is his masterpiece. Most of the infos we get about the show come from his popular blog.

I hope it will look like a film production not a TV one in respect to sets and costumes

  13. @Vics and Matt
    glad you like it, guys!

well, there will be magic, fantasy and dashing gents, all the things you like, my dear :)

you should write a book about it, Lee ;PP

  14. @Clarissa
yep, I'm not surprise you do, the trailer was a smash hit at HOLLYWOOD SPY earlier this year :))

    me too, me too

it's not difficult being stoked about something like this :)

  15. I wonder how close to the books this series will be.

  16. As mentioned in one of the comments above, probably very close since the author is overlooking the project :)

  17. Dezz,
This looks great; I wish I had HBO! I will have to rent it, when it is released!

Damn, Lee may have to write this one down~

Dezz, thanks for sharing; I'm off to catch up
on "The Walking Dead" series. I'm behind~

Thanks Dezz for all the buzz

  18. Ah, Ella, I see Lee has found a new reader for his upcoming book with the above plot :)

  19. I don't get HBO. You will have to let us know if it's good so I can netflix it.

  20. Every time I see a pic from this, I think I spot Keira Knightley.....

  21. @Chris
I'm almost sure it will be good, Chris :)

    how come? :)

  22. Very nice images! I'm looking forward to this, though I've not read anything by Martin. Hopefully this'll be the catalyst to get me reading his stuff :)
