"LEGEND OF THE SEEKER"'S THIRD SEASON IN DANGER???

Although, "Legend of the Seeker" has become much more interesting in it's current 2nd season it seems it's in a grave danger of not being renewed for a third one. Apparently the third season is on shaky ground because one of the stations that picks up the show is facing some financial problems. The story says one of the major broadcasters of "Legend of the Seeker", may pull the plug on broadcasting and if they do "Disney" will pull the plug on production.
This is horrible news, since the second season has managed to remove most of the weaker parts from the premiere season: not only that they brought in some great new cast members (Tabrett Bethell is the most refreshing change for the show, and plus they had a lot of interesting guest stars such as Jolene Blalock, Jessica Marais, Keisha Castle Hughes)), but they've also made stories much more interesting, giving more details not just to plots, but also to sets, costumes, action scenes ... If you like watching this lovely show, and you hate the fact that the best shows are always being canceled too soon ("Rome", "Firefly" ...) you can sign one of the many petitions that are appearing all around the net every day.

  3. Oh Dezmond, you ruined my day!!!!! I hope they do not end the series. It seems every time the kids and I get wrapped up in a series, this happens....I am bad luck!

  4. No!!!
It must come back for a third season (and more)! It's the most fun on TV. I look forward to it every week.

  5. I'm also hoping this will not happen. SEEKER is the only show which gets better as it moves on into the second season, which cannot be said for most other series which loose their freshness after the first season.

  6. Yes, Seeker is in danger but don't bury it just yet. :) Other stations may pick it up or Syfy or an other channel could buy it too. I think Syfy would be an awesome place for LOTS. Tab has already been on the Sci-Fi Magazine's cover earlier this year and they seem to be interested, I hope the producers can make this deal happen.
And a message from Mike Sussman's twitter:
"Everyone, please, chillax. #LegendoftheSeeker has *not* been cancelled. Plans are ongoing for season three. Spread the word."

And I have to agree, the second season is much better in every aspect. The biggest and IMHO the best change was adding Cara into the mix, she brought some tension in the early episodes and she's always fun to watch, plus they gave her character a great backstory.
I love the improved production quality too, the show looks even better than before. Richard looks more like a fighter and a leader now, also a welcome change. And the stories got darker too, I love that.

The show also has a lot of viewers even though it's often aired in crazy timeslots and there isn't enough advertising. And it did pretty well when the Olympics were on too. If Syfy airs it in a decent timeslot and runs a few ads, it will be one of it's most watched shows for sure.
Just do the math: sexy stars, eyecandy for both the male and female viewers + cool special effects + a lot of fights + interesting stories + humor = success. :)

  9. There's still a slim chance that Seeker will continue. But not much of a chance.

  10. but what shall I watch if that happens??? :(( THE TUDORS are finishing in April, and if the SEEKER ends, I shall be left only with MERLIN which has just ten episodes every season :((((((

  11. I think it's more than a slim chance. Other people suggested that ABC Family would be a good place for the show too, which is actually a good idea. Point is, there are many options, I think there's reason to be hopeful.
