TARANTINO GOES GAGA
While the whole planet is talking about her latest video "Telephone" (we in Europe can enjoy the full controversial version :P) Lady Gaga is already planning her next move. The young popstar has met director Quentin Tarantino during the making of "Telephone" which featured the Pussy Wagon from his "Kill Bill" movies. Impressed with Gaga being all gaga :) the "Pulp Fiction" director, who has admitted many times before that he was a huge fan of hers, has apparantly offered Lady Gaga a starring role as an assassin in his next film. So what do you say about this? Good news, bad news, not news at all? :)

No opinon on the movie, but I'm surprised all the hype about Gaga, she's basically a Madonna clone, she even looks like Madonna.
ReplyDeleteI like Gaga fine, but I don't think she's as inventive as everyone gives her credit. I'm neither here nor there on Tarantino...but good luck for her. I hope it turns out well.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't quite compare her with Madonna, since Madonna has absolutely no talent, but I do understand why people like or don't like Gaga.
ReplyDeleteDezmond you did not just say that about Madge. Come on? No talent? Evita? 80s pop? No talent? Madonna trumps Gaga easily.
ReplyDeleteWhy, yes I did, Andrew :) I said what everybody thinks about her, but maybe I shouldn't elaborate on that since we wouldn't wanna start a war :)))
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with Lady Gaga's acting skills, but she doesn't look serious enough for the role of assassin. Some other role, sure. But not assassin.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe it's just her (planned?) image so far that made her look like that.
oh, she's serious (and crazy) enough, since she's assassinated countless maids and lovers and criminals in her past videos :) She always plays a killer in her videos.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you don't like Madonna. Sigh. I think I'm going to go listen to her music just to fight the power!!!
ReplyDeleteSeems odd, but Tarantino films usually rock.
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't like either Madonna or Lady Gaga. Not my style of music.
Every time Lada Gaga "sings" an Angel loses its wings... it's truth.
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine what her acting will do to the poor angels. Haven't they suffered enough?
Personally I've got my row boat, food, and umbrella ready to ride out the Lady Gaga storm. Have yet to be impressed in the least.
Everyone has different taste and some may see talent when others do not. I detect talent in Gaga and I like her style. I also found talent in Madonna's singing, not her acting. Since this post is regarding Gaga I must add that I think she is fresh and original and not a carbon of anyone. I like that about her. I can see why people have controversial issues regarding her work which it is a form of art and certain art is not to be portrayed realistically or literally executed.
ReplyDeleteWell Dezmond thank you for allowing me to speak my opinion. I have another surgery planned for next week so I will be away for awhile and will miss your blog.
Uni, still the witty charmer :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with everything Avalon said here (beside finding the talent in Madonna's singing :p)but it was always interesting to me how the American and European audience respect and love totally different people. While Americans don't like Gaga, Leona, Robbie Williams, Anastacia ... that much, they are the biggest stars here in Europe. On the other hand, Americans love Madonna, Aguilera, Britney, Katy Perry, hip hop stars, who are usually a target of ridicule here in Europe. All of that was always very interesting to me as an interesting cultural and social difference between the two continents.
@Avalon
Oh, Avalon, I'm sorry to hear that, just stay calm and relaxed and everything will pass quickly and you'll be as good as new in no time. I will miss you too, and I will be thinking about you.
I saw this video, and I didn't really understand it. I loved the beginning of it though, i can tell you that much. As far as Gaga taking on an acting performance... I'm afraid she'd be too weird. Or what's more frightening, we might see her acting normal?! Guess it depends on the role. I don't know much about her, but from everything i've seen she seems socially awkward, to put it gently.
ReplyDeleteHey, Casey, nice to see you in our headquarters :) Now, that would be a sight to behold - Gaga acting normal :)))
