RACHEL WEISZ 2 GO SF IN "GRAVITY". NEW PICS OF HELEN MIRREN IN "THE TEMPEST". NEW POSTERS 4 "RESIDENT EVIL:AFTERLIFE" AND SOME SERIOUSLY FUNNY RUMORS

Well, if you ask me this is actually good news: since Angelina Jolie has decided to drop out of Alfonso Cuaron's new sf flick
"Gravity" the rumor has it that he now wants somebody who can actually act in the lead role - our dear Rachel Weisz. If she accepts the role she will join Robert Downey Jr. in the $80 million film about a female astronaut and her team leader on a remote space station as the other team members have got wiped out by a debris field from an exploding satellite. The female heroine's attempts to return home to her child will be the main focus. Many actresses were connected to this role at some point in the past including Sandra Bullock, Natalie Portman, Naomi Watts, Scarlett Johansson and Blake Lively (the last two were personally the most eager to get the role).

I also have two new pictures from "The Tempest", one showing Helen Mirren in a very crazy winged costume standing over a cliff looking all dangerous, and another one in which she is confronted by Djimon Hounsou who portrays the evil spirit Caliban. As I already told you before, "The Tempest" will tell the story of Prospera the ruler of the magical island on which she has to deal with a shipwrecked crew full of her enemies. The amazing cast in this adaptation of the Shakespeare's play also includes Russell Brand, Alan Cumming, Alfred Molina, David Strathairn, Ben Whishaw ...
And you can also check out some new international character posters from "Resident Evil: Afterlife" showing Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter and Wentworth Miller in action. Premiering this month, the new installment takes our Zombie killers to Los Angeles which is overrun by thousands of Undead and is basically a deadly trap.
And here are a few rumors which I'm posting just because I want to make you laugh your pants out at the end of the weekend, so these are the hilarious ones: Lindsay Lohan apparently wants to take the lead female role in "Spider-Man" reboot :) while that little Munchkin Jamie Biber wants two things - the lead role in the reboot of "Back to Future" and the lead role in the remake of "Grease" and he's not naive either - he wants Miley Cyrus to "Grease" up the screen with him :)))) Now, that Monday tomorrow doesn't look that bad, does it?:)

  1. Rachel taking over the role would bode so well for Gravity.
    Those final rumours are hilarious. A reboot of Back to the Future - why????? And I saw Machete yesterday and Lohan was in the movie playing... wait for it... a drug and sex addicted daughter of a wealthy politician. Fitting, huh?

  2. yes, Alex, I wasn't even remotely interested in GRAVITY before they mentioned this Rachel Weisz possibility.
    I'm not sure why would we need BACK TO FUTURE reboot???

  5. Rachel Weisz would be great for the part, especially alongside Downey Jnr. I'll keep an eye on this one.

    Major lols at the rumours, I heard about the Grease remake a few days back, but why would they reboot Back to the Future? It shouldn't be allowed!

  6. @Elliot
    he probably has the whole picture, since I've cut off the bottom part showing her legs in all their glory :)

    @Vics
    it's the whole epidemic of remakes in Hollywood.

    @Jamie
    it shouldn't not be allowed I agree.

  7. Oh man, where to begin. The more Tempest pics you show the more interested I become. Gravity sounds good, and I think either ScarJo and Portman should get the role :) And shouldn't that pic of Miley Cyrus not be allowed? I mean how can someone barely 16 (I think) be able to have pictures like THAT. And I agree with Jamie, leave Back to the Future ALONE!

  8. I thought Miley was over 18, she looks quite mature in her latest video for CAN'T BE TAMED. The pic was taken from that video in which she plays a rare species of bird called Cyrus and in this particular scene she is singing surrounded by peacock feathers.

  9. I'm with Jamie. None of those movies needs to be remade, especially Grease. Did no one learn the lessons of Grease 2 except Michelle Pfeiffer?

  10. the world never learns its lessons, Rosie :((

  11. Back to the Future and the sequals remain in constant rotation on cable tv here in the US, much more so than the Karate Kid. So while a lot of kids hadn't watched Karate Kid, I don't necessarily think this is the case for Back to the Future. A remake just doesn't make any sense!

  12. The Tempest is going to be so good, isn't it? It's going to be so good, I'll pretend that I didn't hear anything about a Grease remake.

  13. Don't hold your breath, Missy Perry :) It might be good but Julie Tamor, the director, had made some really bad films with amazing casts before so the possibilities are 50:50 :)

  14. DEZMOND - Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha . . . Al right. Thank you for that.
    Rachel is a beauty. Gravity would be great with her in it.

  15. Hi :) An interesting mix of films you've got there.

    Remaking, Back to the Future?. Shame on them. That's a classic best left alone.

  19. I don't know anything about Jamie Biber acting talent-- heck I don't even know who he is- but why remake Grease. Now "Back to the Future" remake maybe it could be done okay, but probably would be a dud. What's going on? Hollywood running out of ideas?

  20. I much prefer the idea of someone other than Angelina in the lead role of Gravity. Yay :)

    And didn't they already remake Grease? lol.

    Hope you had a great weekend..I did! :)

  21. I don't care what Lindsay Lohan has done, I'd still do her. It would definitely remake her career if she got the lead.

  23. @Arlee
    Lee, believe me, it's probably for the best that you don't know who Justin Bieber is :)

    @Lynda
    well, you need a new remake on every five or tens years or so :))

    @Powdered
    wonder if she would do you as well? :PPPP

  24. Oh, Justin Bieber--I've seen him singing on TV. Don't remember what he did, but I saw him sing. Flash in the pan I'd say.
