RAY STEVENSON, MILLA JOVOVICH, MADS MIKKELSEN, CHRISTOPH WALTZ, ORLANDO BLOOM, LOGAN LERMAN, LUKE EVANS, MATTHEW MACFADYEN JOIN "THE THREE MUSKETEERS"

I'm not sure how we haven't noticed that the casting process for Paul W.S. Anderson's 3D epic adventure "The Three Musketeers" has already begun, but it seems they already have a pretty stunning bunch of actors signed on. Listen to this: Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans and Matthew Macfadyen will play Porthos, Athos and Aramis. Mads Mikkelsen will portray Rochefort. Christoph Waltz will portray Cardinal Richelieu while Anderson's wify and Serbia's own Milla Jovovich will play the mysterious and naughty Milady de Winter.

And that's not all, according to "Heat Vision" the producers have sent an offer to Orlando Bloom for the role of the Duke of Buckingham, and they also want Logan Lerman as D'Artagnan, the youngster who runs away from home to fight for French royalty. I'm pretty much stunned, how about you???

  1. If I trusted Paul W.S. Anderson at all I could get behind this, but Resident Evil is the only one of his films I've even cared to watch more than once, and even then it was very lukewarm.

Definitely a nice cast list though, I could see myself at least checking it out.

  2. I was stunned with the number of nice actors they've already signed in. Wonder whom will Doug Liman choose for his own version of THE MUSKETEERS.

  3. Bloom would be a better Musketeer. The 3 Musketeer films with Raquel Welch are finally getting a re-release I believe this month or the next, I look forward to checking those out.

    @Alex
thanks, Alex, that animated picture of me is kinda cute because it really depicts me - my green eyes, green eyeglasses, the green V-neck I always wear, the dark jeans, even my green Reebok sneakers and the shaved head :))

    @Lorel
    agreed! :)

  6. I have nothing against the actor cast as D'Artagnan but I believe Kyle Schmid would be a better fit for the role.

  8. Hey, Maggie, I've never seen any of Kyle's performances, but judging from the pics he seems nice and charming, and welcome to HOLLYWOOD SPY:)

Hey, Nat, long time no see :)

  9. I think it's quite an impressive cast for a project we didn't have too much hope for initially.

  10. Dezmond: Thanks for the welcome. He played Henry Fitzroy which was on lifetime which means he didn't get a lot of exposure. Blood Ties is available on DVD if you ever get curious.

Please check him out if you ever have time:

  11. I'm with maggiemay, would love to see Kyle Schmid playing d'Artagnan. For he's not only playing but bringing his roles to life, he has already proved his acting skills - he would be the perfect fit for d'Artagnan! :-)

  12. Jaccsy, I'm not sure if we could call a project with Mila Jovovich a hopeful one, but let's be optimistic :)))

Nandu, we've never heard of Kyle, but we're keeping our fingers crossed for him to get a breakthrough role :)

  13. Dez, I've been reading every post, just slacking on the commenting.

The stick figure guy on my blog is a comic based on RA. (There are 7 YT vids so far.) They have a lot of inside jokes for RA fans, so it's okay if you don't get it and think it's weird. I still like you and your fabulous blog anyway! :)

  14. Oh, I didn't think it was weird :) I just didn't get it :)
It's always nice when you drop by for a cup of coffee and fresh news :) You can bring Richard as well, we won't mind ;)

  20. i have to agree with maggiemay Kyle Schmid is a wonerful actor and would be great for the part of d'Artagnan, he did a fantastic job as Henry Fitzroy in Blood Ties.

  21. I too, agree with Maggie May and the others about Kyle Schmid. I have been a big fan since I discovered him on Blood Ties. He would be great as d"Artagnan.

  22. Dezmond,I have to say that I was just like you at the first of the year meaning that I had no clue who Kyle was. But after an article I wrote with a a poll for voting on the Sexiest Man in the Vampire Realm, his many fans requested that I add his name to the poll.Even though the voting had been going on for 2 days already and Robert Pattinson was in the lead by a huge amount, Kyle ended up winning the poll. This sparked my curiosity and after watching both seasons of Blood Ties over a weekend, I'm now a huge fan. So, I have to agree that Kyle would have been a great D'Artagnan! His portrayal of Henry Fitzroy literally put me in a trance because of his convincing acting skills.

  24. We're just a small cross section. There are more out there but they prefer to be quiet fans, lol.

  25. Dezmond, I agree with you about mila jovovich.Well, sometimes, you have to no, with whom to go to bed, to get a role.
I´m here ..because of Kyle Schmid. I don`t want to waste your time, telling what a wonderful and great actor and bla.. he is. But, I can say, that he knows, how to ride a horse. Or will everything be digital in the movie? Legan Lorman eh Logan Lerman could get lessons from me, how to drive a bicicle, but that wouldn`t help him in the movie. No, I can`t stand another baby face on big screen. No-one wants to see me mad, believe me. So, please, do your best advertising for Kyle Schmid.

  26. I love The Three Musketeers! I agree, Kyle Schmid would be perfect as D'Artagnan. Not only a very handsome man (and very generous and kind with his fans) but a truly amazing actor, would love to see him in this role.

    Karen.

  27. Hi there!
I'd love to see Kyle Schmid as D'Artagnan. He's not only handsome and charming, he also has a lot of sportive skills.
That he is a talented actor you can see if you compare his very different roles in Blood Ties, Zerophilia, The Thaw and the newest, Gravy Train.
Even in his small/supporting roles in The Covenant or A History of Violance he made good impression.
So I think he brings everything what is needed for the part of D'Artagnan. Please pay attention at Kyle Schmid!

  29. Another Vote here for Kyle Schmid as d'Artagnan!

Dezmond if ever you get then chance you should def. try and see the Blood Ties series, then you'd know/see what we're talking about!

Kyle definitely has a lot of range for a young actor (and according to his bio. very little formal training). He's a natural. He recently tackled comedy in a small Canadian Indie flick called "GravyTrain" and even there in, as a supporting role, he was stellar.

He def. has the acting chops!
