'SHANNARA' EPIC TV SERIES CASTS JAMES TREVENA BROWN AND EMILIA BURNS! NEW TRAILER FOR KATHERINE HEIGL AND BEN BARNES ROMANTIC DRAMA 'JACKIE AND RYAN'

'SHANNARA' EPIC TV SERIES
JAMES TREVENA BROWN AND EMILIA BURNS JOIN THE CAST

While we are anxiously awaiting to get the first pictures from MTV's small screen epic series adaptation of famous SHANNARA novels, the casting for the supporting parts is still on, and 'Spoiler TV' reports of two new names in the cast: James Trevena Brown will play Crispin Edensong (The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey), Captain of the Home Guard, who swears to protect Wil and Amberle on their perilous journey. Emilia Burns (Terra Nova) will be Commander Tilton, the Captain of the Black Watch, the legendary protectors of the Ellcrys and the Gardens of Life.

ELVES AND MAGIC
The story follows the SHANNARA family, whose descendants are empowered with ancient magic and whose adventures continuously reshape the future of the world. Brooke Williams is Catania, a witty and wise Elf who is not only Elven princess Amberle’s (Poppy Drayton) handmaiden, but her trusted best friend in the palace. Daniel MacPherson is Arion, the heir to the Elvin throne. Arion takes himself very seriously and is the opposite of his wilder brother Ander (Aaron Jakubenko). Marcus Vanco plays Bandon. Feared by his family for his mysterious visions, Bandon is discovered by Elvin prince Wil (Austin Butler) and Amberle starving and chained to a wall. Druid Allanon (Manu Bennett) takes special interest in him, believing his abilities will be integral in saving the Four Lands. Cast also includes Ivana Baquero (Eretria, a human thief) and John Rhys-Davies (King Eventine, Amberle's grandfather, who has ruled the Elvin kingdom of Arborlon for decades)!

    1. It's one of the most famous of the epic fantasy novel series.
      You too!

  2. I don't watch too many romantic dramas, but that one looks interesting.

I always saw the Shannara books in the library, but didn't get to reading them.

    1. hope MTV doesn't ruin the story for those who loved the books

  3. I hope they don't screw up Shannara as those books were on my shelves for many, many years.

Jackie & Ryan could prove interesting and a relief from Superhero movies. The one thing I didn't like was the Appalachian music. Now I do appreciate it as a legitimate root music, but I don't particularly enjoy listening to it.

Also I didn't know trains still ran that much. We've loads of tracks here that are abandoned with no trains at all. But I'm guessing in the cities they still use them to move goods. A modern day rail rider could make for an interesting character.

    1. They will probably make it teensy, dear, it's MTV after all... but as long as they don't put Miley Cirys in it we're safe! The actors they've chosen so far have been extremely hot....
Our trains are falling apart too, they look so poor you'd be shocked to travel in them. It takes forever to get anywhere... even a 30km ride can last for hours.... they're used here by people who commute from villages and towns to cities as they usually don't have many buses if at all....Last time I travelled by train it took us 6 or 7 hours to cover 200km from Belgrade.... it was an absolutely nightmare.... and it was 50*C inside

    2. That sounds positively dreadful. I don't imagine they clean out the inside of the coaches all that often either.

    3. it was much worse during Slobodan Milosevic... almost like in India... and so many people that sometimes you had to travel in the train's toilet.... But my most exciting ride was during NATO bombings when I travelled at 5AM with no lights on in the train.... you couldn't see a thing in front of you... just pitch darkness, bombers above us and the train tumbling towards Novi Sad :)

  5. I haven't heard of Shannara before, but just added it to my reading list. Hope I like them!

We still have quite a few trains around here. My mom lives right by one of the loading stations where they load/unload the boxcars. They had to pass a law for them to stop blowing their horns in the area because it was *honk! honk! honk!* all day and night!

  6. Another Katherine Heigl film. But I think it's been a while since she had her last movie. I hope this will be better than previous ones especially it's Ben Barnes. :P
