GERARD BUTLER, TOM HARDY, JASON STATHAM, LIAM NEESON ARE "PROFESSIONALS"? CONCEPT ART FROM MEDIEVAL EPIC "BRAVE"! NEIL GAIMAN'S "AMERICAN GODS" GETS A FILM ADAPTATION

The production on PROFESSIONALS which will be a film adaptation of popular British cop show from the 70's is moving
ahead. The story of the film basically revolves around an ex-cop and an ex-soldier from a secret law enforcement division called CI5, who use unconventional, sometimes illegal means to fight crimes that can’t be handled by the police. Now, the interesting and mouth watering part is the cast. According to latest rumors, the producers want the best of British actors, and the names currently included in the list of possible actors to portray the two agents are Gerard Butler, Tom Hardy and Jason Statham, while their boss could be played by Liam Neeson or Gary Oldman.

SHORT HEADLINES It seems a new book from popular writer Neil Gaiman is heading for a film adaptation.  His AMERICAN GODS, the story set in a world populated buy Gods and mythological beings,
will be directed by an unnamed Oscar winning director. *Although we still have to see X-MEN: FIRST CLASS this summer, according to "Empire" the studio is already planning X-MEN 4 and X-MEN 5 which will, unlike the retrospective FIRST CLASS, continue where the 2006 movie has stopped. At the same time, the production is continuing with DEADPOOL too, which will be a reboot of the Deadpool's story we've seen in WOLVERINE, it will be an R-rated comedy, and we shall see Ryan Reynolds both in costume and with Deadpool's cancer scarred face. *Neil Marshall's (CENTURION) new project could be an untitled World War II alien invasion movie for which he is writing a script himself.

One of the animated films we are anxiously expecting in 2012 is Pixar's BRAVE. Although Reese Witherspoon has dropped out of the project, the film is moving on, and you can see some of the lovely concept art pictures from "Entertainment Weekly". Set in the mystical Scottish Highlands, where Merida is the princess of a kingdom ruled by King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson), BRAVE will follow an unruly daughter and
an accomplished archer, Merida, who one day defies a sacred custom of the land and inadvertently brings turmoil to the kingdom. In an attempt to set things right, Merida seeks out an eccentric old Wise Woman (Julie Walters) and is granted an ill-fated wish. Also figuring into Merida's quest, and serving as comic relief, are the kingdom's three lords: the enormous Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), the surly Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson), and the disagreeable Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane).

  1. Wow Dezzy, you're spoiling me! Gerry Berry & Tom Hardy together again would be awesome! I've never seen this series but I always like action/spy movies and this is definitely right up their alley.

  2. Oh, and I love Gary Oldman too, that'd be heavenly if all three of them end up being cast [fingers crossed!]

    I don't like the plot, but I do love the cast. I'd die to see Butler and Statham together, and Hardy would be great too!

  8. The Professionals sounds amazing; I love the cast! I'm not sure about X-Men 5...time will tell. Thanks for sharing this incredible news!

  9. Wow, that's a lot of X-Men coming out. It will be interesting to see where they possibly go with the story considering they killed most of the team off (and whoever they didn't kill off, they wussified to make Wolverine stand out more). Not that I don't love Hugh Jackman, I just really wish Rogue's awesome character hadn't been basically butchered.

  10. Professionals sounds badass, and I say that with no former awareness of the original TV show! Hopefully, some of those names will make the cut, esp. Hardy or Butler. They're all fantastic!

  11. I'm loving the tasty treats they've got lined up for Professionals. I will definitely be in line for that badass flick. Deadpool should be very interesting, can't wait to see Ryan with his blades again. Brave looks and sounds spectacular.

  16. I am sooo ready to see Professionals!! I have never heard of or seen the t.v. show but that cast is all I needed to know! Too much sexy in one film...whoo. haha. Brave looks pretty good based on the visuals alone. Excited to hear more about that!!

  17. Brave looked so alluring! but i would love to see more of its characters soon. i can never get enough of pixar! n of course, Disney. :)

  18. It's not unusual for Pixar to make an animation set in a fairy tale world. I almost think it was another disney's homemade.

    never seen any, but I know he's popular

    @Ella
    glad you liked the news, Ella ;)

    @EMily
    I liked Rogue as a character, but I think she was kicked out due to Anna Paquin's horrible acting. I'll never understand how did that girl get an Oscar nomination. Her acting is always poor, especially in TRUE BLOOD.

    I knew you would gonna like that one ;)

    @Melsy

    it's one sexy cast, isn't it? :)
    I'm also waiting to see first real pics from BRAVE.

    @Levian
    I mostly love DREAMWORKS and Disney, Pixar a bit less, but with this film it seems they've decided to lure me into their side too :))

    @Jaccsy
    it really is most unusual, dear JAccsy, guess they were in the mood for some change :)

  23. The short list for the Professionals sounds good and I'd be happy with any of those choices. I like them all.

    As for that American Gods, that sounds interesting. I just love that mythological stuff at times.

    I'm also glad they're getting the ball rolling on Deadpool. That one could turn out to be a really good (and refreshing) comic book movie.

    Not sure I much care for a new movie from Neil Marshall. The Decent I didn't like and Doomsday was absolute garbage.

    However, I am interested in that Brave and to see more from it. I love Pixar and I'm always interested in any original ideas they come up with.

  24. it is a great cast, isn't it?
    I also love myths and legends and anything epic.
    I liked Neil Marshall's CENTURION, and didn't like the other ones.
    BRAVE could be really unique and great if done right.

  25. Funny that most of the cast 'wishlist' for The Professionals have been in Guy Ritchie movies. I wonder if he'd direct it too?

  26. I'm excited by American Gods, and Brave is looking pretty damn good too :D I'm not convinced by X Men 4 and 5; I think it's time they let that particular thread of the universe die (while we hope that First Class is as awesome as it needs to be).

  27. @Flixy
    yes, I've noticed that too. I've never liked his work, so I'm hoping he won't get this job :)

    @Jamie
    BRAVE is really looking good, too bad it's not set in Wales :)
