LILY COLLINS JOINS
Not so long ago, in fact it was earlier this summer, we had the piece of news that Nicholas Hoult will play the father of the MiddleEarth in biopic TOLKIEN and now 'The Hollywood Reporter' has got the scoop that Lily Collins might play the woman who inspired legendary Lord of the Rings!
The movie explores the early life of J. R. R. TOLKIEN as he finds
love, friendship and artistic inspiration among a group of fellow
outcasts. When the horrors of World War I envelope Tolkien's life, they
threaten to tear this "fellowship" apart, and he questions the very
meaning and purpose of his art. Instead, he finds a way to use these
experiences as inspiration for his famous works, among them The Hobbit
and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Lily Collins will play his love and
wife Edith Bratt who inspired the elven princesses from his sagas.
Anthony Boyle has also been cast!
'SNOWPIERCER' SF SERIES
FINDS ITS COOK IN SUSAN PARK
In TV news, the latest one to join the small screen adaptation of cult sf movie hit SNOW PIERCER is Susan Park. The pilot for a sf TNT
series already has Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs as leads in the story set seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland and the remnants of humanity inhabit a gigantic, perpetually moving train that circles the globe. It explores class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival. As 'Deadline' reports today, Susan Park will play Jinju, the finest chef at the train’s finest restaurant, and a member of the train’s elite.
Susan Park starred in a lot of sitcoms before |
This could be very good if they make it like I think they should. I hadn't heard anything about it until right now. Thanks DEZ!
ReplyDeletebe welcome, Pat
DeleteI think Hoult and Collins will be a lovely pairing! I still haven't seen the entire LOTR series but hope to see them all some day. I just have a hard time sitting through a 3.5 hour movie!
ReplyDeletethe first two are nice and you really do not notice it is 2,5 hours, but the third one was a bit harder for me and Hobbits were a living dread... too long and too boring even with my Elven kings
DeleteI'd enjoy seeing a movie of Tolkien's life.
ReplyDeleteHope it will be majestic
DeleteThe Snowpiercer series sounds interesting. It was a really good movie I thought.
ReplyDeleteTolkien sounds interesting though I am not sure how much traction it will get.
I loved the movie myself, although not the end :) Hope the series will be on a very high level, could be a total breakthrough as so many people have never seen the film
DeleteI like Nicholas Hoult -- glad he'll be portraying Tolkien (obviously at a young age!)
ReplyDeleteI don't know what he was like, but I imagine Hoult being magical and radiant
