'PETER RABBIT' TRAILER
IS AN INSULT TO THE CLASSIC
If you're wondering what you will be doing next Easter, you will be watching PETER RABBIT! Or maybe you will be puking after you see the trailer. Columbia pictures has released the first trailer for the big
screen adaptation of Beatrix Potter's beloved children classic which jumps into theatres next February in US and March in Europe.
2018 marks 125th anniversary of Potter's book |
PETER RABBIT the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated
generations of readers, now takes on the starring role of his own
irreverent, contemporary comedy with attitude. In the film, Peter's feud
with Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson) escalates to greater heights than ever before as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover (Rose Byrne) who lives next door. James Corden voices the character of Peter with
playful spirit and wild charm. Margot Robbie and Daisy Ridley
are also in the voice cast. The first reactions to the trailer are very
negative, saying that Potter is probably turning in her grave watching
Peter turned into a party animal instead of living in an innocent,
charming world that has captivated so many childhoods.

Children's classics of literature almost always suffer when they are transferred to the big screen, alas. The charm of the original work is often lost.
ReplyDeleteespecially when they make it this irreverent :( Poor author is probably turning in her grave
DeleteTell us how you really feel ;) Is he making it rain with lettuce? I suppose there will be a lot of adult humor in there if that made it into the trailer. Sad they didn't keep it true to its roots, but I am sure the young children will like it.
ReplyDeletebut that is the point, it ain't for kids, and it is supposed to be :( Why do they have to brutalize everything?
DeleteBecause it seems this younger generation insists on shock and gore instead of good stories. As long as there is a demand for that kind of shit, sadly, it will keep getting rammed down our throats.
DeleteI hate millenials so much!
DeleteOf course it's disgraceful. What else did you expect? The nerve of these people.
ReplyDeleteI'm scandalised
DeleteSomebody gave them the green light. Fire their butt!
