"YOU MAY NOT KISS THE BRIDE" TRAILER WITH DAVID ANNABLE, KATHERINE MCPHEE, KATHY BATES! FANTASY TRILOGY "MATCHED" & SF NOVEL "BREAK MY HEART 1000 TIMES" MOVIE ADAPTATIONS

And here's another movie adaptation of a book for all you book lovers: according to "The Hollywood Reporter" David Slade (directed HARD HANDY with Patrick Wilson) will direct MATCHED for Disney. The fantasy trilogy
by Ally Condie is set in a futuristic world where government officials tell people how to live their lives, with everything from what books they should read to what people they should fall in love with. The plot revolves around a young woman who turns down her appointed romance to forge her own path. Another book to get adapted into a film is BREAK MY HEART 1,000 TIMES by Daniel Waters. The yet unreleased book (should be out next month) is set after a cataclysmic event that has left ghosts walking the earth. The story centres on a young girl who is terrorized by an apparition that she suspects to be a serial killer.

YOU MAY NOT KISS THE BRIDE TRAILER
And your trailer for today is one coming pretty late - it's for action comedy YOU MAY NOT KISS THE BRIDE which hits theatres
September 21st. The story of the comedy revolves around  an unassuming pet photographer who is thrown into serious action, adventure and romance when he's forced to marry a Croatian bride and spend his honeymoon at a remote tropical resort where she is kidnapped. The good side of the film is that it features two mindblowingly gorgeous television stars in the lead roles - David Annable (from BROTHERS AND SISTERS) and Katherine McPhee (from SMASH) alongside a cast which features some legendary names such as Kathy Bates, some truly horrid faces such as Mena Suvari and Rob Schneider and some cameos from forgotten action stars Tia Carere and Vinnie Jones.

  3. I haven't read Matched, but you're right, it was talked about quite a lot among YA bloggers. And, ooh, I kind of had a dream once like that Break My Heart 1,000 Times ghost story. Scared the bajeezus out of me. :(

    2. I was terrorized by a horrid ghost in a dream. One of those dreams that you wake up and think it was real. *shivers* I should write a story about it, since it was so scary.

    3. I've never had horror dreams, only the naughty ones :)
Do you think it was the ghost of some real person? :)

  4. Matched sounds like a well trod story path, but it always has good potential. I'm up for it if they can pull it off in an original way.

  5. MATCHED: looks to be interesting, but I agree with you, Dezmond, only if it's a Movie, not a distraction for adolescents!
and not sure that it's a very original subject...

    2. it's sad! where are the great SF movies of the eighties or even more recent ones???
(can't quote them all: I didn't have all the English names!)
      Philip K.Dick was so original!

  11. Break my heart 1000 must be a hot property for them to be making a film before the book has been released. I'm not into horror or serial killers, so it's probably not for me.

    Matched-meh.

You May Not, now that is more for me. Yes it's wacky and silly, but it's the kind of distraction I need right now. A laugh out loud can only help!

    1. I've noticed that 90% of sold rights never end with a movie adaptation. So, you never know... it is possible it will never be realized into a movie.

    2. That's too bad because the author must get quite excited and then to have to experience the let down would be tough.

    3. it is, imagine finding yourself in such a situations, or even worse when they make a film out of your book but they give it to wrong directors and actors. I'd probably die.... or kill someone :)

  15. Matched reminds me of the book 1984 - awesome read.

You know I'm all about the goofy comedies and then add a bit of a romantic twist and some action - well it's just my kind of flick so it will get me off the couch and into the theatre. I was surprised to read horrid in your description of Rob Schneider LOL =PP

    1. 1984 is also getting a new remake :) Wrote about it last winter, methinks.
What? You mean Schneider isn't horrid? Well, that's a news to me :PPPP

      Delete
    2. So am I to understand you don't like Schneider darling. (just kidding).

1984 was good-a classic bit of literature. I don't know that this book could be called literature though.

    3. I'm going to do a search on your write up for that. It must have been before we met. I hope they do a good job on it - and said "remake" which leads me to believe there is one out there already? I must do my homework....

Oh, Dezzy, will I ever convert you over to stupid comedies? LOL =PPP

you is so very discerning and bright, milady :)
Yep, I'd agree that most of the today's book crap isn't literature.
