FIRST EPIC TV SERIES TRAILER IS HERE
Most of you know that I pretty much raised myself as a child reading famous classics, and Russian ones were among my favourites
especially Pushkin! His legendary and only completed novel THE CAPTAIN'S DAUGHTER (Капитанская дочка) is being adapted into an eight part series and today I have the first gorgeous trailer for you with English subs! The series will stream on Russian streamer Kion and will have its linear TV premiere on their national broadcaster Rossiya 1!

WHAT IS THE STORY?
By the decision of his father, the sixteen-year-old nobleman Peter Grinev (Oleg Savostyuk)
instead in the capital's guard goes to serve in the Belogorsk fortress.
On the way during a fierce blizzard, he 
meets an unfamiliar Cossack -
Emelian Pugachev (Evgeny Tkachuk) Not knowing who it is, Grinev,
touched by pity and simplicity of the heart, shares
with him his oath to
elope. Arriving in the fortress, Peter falls in love with the daughter
of commandant Masha (Evgenia Leonov) His feeling turns out to
be mutual. However, Petya has a rival – Alexey Schwabrin (Yegor Koreshkov),
a lieutenant, decorated and exiled to the Belogorsk because of a
duel.
From jealousy, Schwabrin tries to harm Grinev with all his might.
Meanwhile, Pugachev declares himself Emperor Peter the Third,
miraculously
saved from death, and gathers a motley army. The Pugachev
uprising is rapidly gaining strength, the rebels take one fortress after
another. The
capture of the Belogorsk fortress by the army of Pugachev
will turn the fate of Grinev and Masha. They must chose between honor or
life, bitter adulthood
and sacrifice for the sake love. Our dear Sergey Bezrukov plays the role of Grinev's father. See the trailer below:
