As Deadline reports, Christopher Hampton is set to create a movie out of EVERY VALLEY book from Charles King about famous composer Handel. It uncovers the story behind one of the world’s most beloved musical works, George Frideric Handel’s Messiah. More than a simple origin story, EVERY VALLEY reveals the turbulent, gripping world in which Handel’s Messiah was born, an era rife with war, political strife, and personal suffering. With cinematic scope, the book traces the lives of a diverse cast of real historical figures, each of whom contributed to the creation of a transcendent musical masterpiece that continues to inspire hope centuries later. Walden Media is producing.

VARVARA THE FAIR WITH THE SILKEN HAIR FAIRY TALE MOVIE ADAPTATION

Straight from the land of Russia and their endless well of enchanting folk tales, myths and legends come first images from the new big screen adaptation of their famous fairy tale VARVARA THE FAIR WITH THE SILKEN HAIR (Варвара-Краса) which should arrive into cinemas in March 2027 and has recently started shooting. Rinata Timerbaeva will play the title character, and Vitaly Kornienko will play the role of the little inhabitant of the underwater kingdom, Echo. Also starring will be the ultimate Russian superstar Alexander Petrov, Panslavic star Serbian actor Milos Bikovic, Kirill Pletnev, and Nikita Policemako in undisclosed roles to be revealed later on.

  THE STORY OF THE ENCHANTING FILM

is set in a magical, fairy tale land, where a story filled with enchantment, cunning, and true love unfolds. Tsar Yeremey promises the ruler of the underwater kingdom, Berendey, the marriage of his only son, Yelisey, to his daughter, the beautiful Princess Varvara the Beautiful. However, instead of an heir, a simple blacksmith, Andrei, arrives in the kingdom, whose fate suddenly intertwines with the underwater world. Prime Video has ordered a brand new TV series version of popular STARGATE movie which was already turned into two TV series before. This time Martin Gero will write, direct and executive produce it and Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich who created the original movie will also be executive producers. As you know Stargate is a military sci-fi franchise that centers on the Stargate, an ancient ring-shaped device that creates a stable wormhole, enabling near-instantaneous travel across the cosmos.

Paul Andrew Williams both wrote and directed the film in which Brenda plays neglected pensioner Elsie who finds an unexpected ally in her younger neighbour Colleen. Over time, a friendship grows but Elsie's resentful, guilt-ridden son stirs up tensions bringing shocking consequences. Jason Watkins also stars in the movie as Elsie's son.

As Adrian's mother Pauline wrestles with her feminist awakening, his father George struggles with being made redundant in an unforgiving economy. Adrian’s wider world is made up of a host of memorable characters like his 'treacle-haired beloved' Pandora, his take-no-prisoners Grandma and his unlikely friend, the foul-mouthed pensioner Bert Baxter. This vivid portrait of suburban life in Britain shows how much we have changed while staying the same. The result is a timeless family drama that is as warm and funny as it is sad and poignant.

To mark the beginning of production first images from the live action movie adaptation of Nintendo's famous video game THE LEGEND OF ZELDA have been released revealing two leads Bo Bragason as Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link at the sets. Wess Ball is helming the movie scheduled to be released into cinemas May 2027. The game itself has the story that revolves around elf-like warrior Link and Princess Zelda who team up to fight Ganon, a former warlord-turned-evil-demon-king, and save the magical land of Hyrule. More than 150 million copies of the game have been sold so far around the world.

Weaving together the lives of several families as they navigate unspoken conflicts, private dilemmas, and fleeting moments of beauty from their disparate cabins the story flashes back to dramatic events in key characters’ lives before their holiday which may have consequences in the present.

 

 

COOPER AND FRY ON CHANNEL 5

Channel 5 begun, earlier this Tuesday, airing their new series COOPER AND FRY set in the mystery shrouded Peak District,  where DC Ben Cooper (Robert James Collier), an affable local, is thrown together with guarded newcomer DC Diane Fry (Mandip Gill), to investigate a string of mysterious deaths. As their personal lives begin to intertwine and past scars look to be healed, a unique friendship is formed. While Cooper and Fry unearth old rituals and beliefs, they must rely on each other to not only bring justice, but to survive.

Prime Video has our dear Jack Whitehall as a manny in their new six episode thriller series MALICE which started this Friday. He plays a rather hot and charming tutor who infiltrates a wealthy family's life, revealing a sinister agenda. As his vengeful plot unfolds, the family must confront the enemy living under their own roof. David Duchovny and Carice van Houten play the parents of the family.

BBC and Disney Plus have released a first trailer for their new five episode mini series THE WAR BETWEEN THE LAND AND THE SEA, a sf spin off of Dr. Who some five months ago, but now it has finally been revealed that the series will have a two episode premiere on BBC One December 7th and we have gorgeous new posters to prove it!

 

  THE SERIES

 is led by our gorgeous Russell Tovey as the member of the alien-busting organisation UNIT who must step into action when a fearsome and ancient species emerges from the ocean, dramatically revealing themselves to humanity, and an international crisis is triggered with the entire population at risk as the land and sea wage war.

The series will have five episodes

 UNIT is led by Kate Lethbridge Stewart (Jemma Redgrave), who fights for control as humanity faces destruction. Gugu Mbatha-Raw also stars but you won't recognise her under the blue make up. 

 

 

WHO ELSE IS IN THE CAST?

Ruth Madeley stars as Shirley Bingham, Alexander Devrient as Colonel Christofer Ibrahim, and Colin McFarlane as General Austin Pierce. Other previously announced cast members include Adrian Lukis, Patrick Baladi, Francesca Corney, Mei Mac, Vincent Franklin, Waleed Hammad, Iestyn Arwel, Hannah Donaldson, Manpreet Bachu, and Ann Akinjirin. Lady Nazca is out in Germany and France

 who pioneered research into Peru’s mysterious Nazca lines in the 1940s, and then fought for their preservation throughout her life. But Beer was replaced by Empress star Devrim Lingnau and the film is playing in cinemas in France and Germany this Autumn. The Nazca lines, a 50 square km area in the Nazca Desert in southern Peru, are a mysterious group of geoglyphs, forming geometric designs and the shapes of birds and animals when viewed from the sky. Reiche first moved to Peru in the 1930s to work as a governess after studying mathematics and languages at university in her native city of Dresden. She became fascinated by the lines after a trip to the Nazca Desert in the early 1940s and made it her life’s mission to research their meaning and protect them. This passion brought with it trouble and danger but also give her a sense of peace. Guillaume Gallienne plays her co-archaeologist Paul Kosok in the Damien Dorsaz helmed movie.

It is a contemporary comedy about ex-couple Russ and Anna, who discover that Merv - the dog they share custody of - has become depressed due to their breaking up. Attempting to lift Merv's spirits at Christmas, Russ takes him on a "boys' trip", leaving freezing Minnesota for a dog-friendly beach in sunny Florida. Anna unexpectedly shows up, rekindling romantic feelings. Patricia Heaton also stars.

The eight episode season two is being shot in Spain, Jordan and Hungary.

Straight over from Russia, which never has a shortage of new period series, we have a poster and a trailer for their new historical drama KING OF THE NIGHT (Царь ночи) which actually started last week November 6th on their streamer Premier depicting the history of one family against the backdrop of tragic events. Elizaveta Boyarskaya, Vladimir Vdovichy chenko, Alexander Galibin, Maxim Mityashin, Alexey Yarmukchi, Alice Refer, Alexey Ukhov star in the series which was shot last year over in the Northern imperial capital of St. Petersburg.

 

NEW SERIES HAS THE STORY SET  

at the beginning of the 20th century in St. Petersburg. After the death of their father, young brother and sister, Jacob and Sophia, lose each other. To meetagain, they have to go through street gangs, a revolutionary underground, intrigues of political police and high society and be at the center of a conspiracy, the purpose of which is the destruction of the Russian Empire. Will they be able to hear the only person who calls for salvation through love and faith and make the right choice between good and evil when the world is collapsing around them? After I remind you that next week is bringing us the premieres of The Beast in Me, Malice and The Seduction, when it comes to new TV series, I will present you with the trailer and poster for new period set drama THE ARTIST which will hit The Network free streamer November 27th with first three episodes with the other three available December 25th. The series is set in the same period as Gilded Age but it is more of a quirky comedy with Mandy Patinkin, Janet McTeer, Danny Huston, Hank Azaria, Zachary Quinto and Clark Gregg, as well as Katharine McPhee, Jill Hennessy in the lead roles.

 SET IN THE TWILIGHT OF GILDED AGE

 it follows an ensemble of the era’s celebrities who meet at the home of Norman Henry, an eccentric and failing tycoon (Mandy Patinkin), and his wife Marian (Janet McTeer) which ends in his untimely demise. Zachary Quinto will play Delphin Delmas, a white shoe lawyer from San Francisco. Hank Azaria will be Thomas Edison, the esteemed inventor who visits Norman Henry to pitch his latest technological device. Clark Gregg portrays Harry Kendall Thaw, the spoiled son of an American coal and railroad baron. Danny Huston is Edgar Degas, the celebrated and controversial French Impressionist artist.
