A trailer has been released for the directorial debut of Kristin Scott Thomas MY MOTHER'S WEDDING in which she also stars next to Sienna Miller, Emily Beecham, Scarlett Johansson and Freida PInto with Joshua McGuire, Mark Stanley, Thibault de Montalembert taking the male roles. 

 Out in cinemas August 8th, this heartfelt comedy movie follows the funny story of three sisters who return to their childhood home for a momentous weekend: the third wedding of their twice-widowed mother, Diana Frost (Scott Thomas). Amazon MGM Studios will make a new Biblical series JOSEPH OF EGYPT with The Chosen creator Dallas Jenkins. It will be written and executive produced by Craig Wright. In the Book of Genesis, Joseph is the son of Jacob and Rachel who is sold into slavery in Egypt by his brothers. But his ability to successfully interpret the Pharaoh’s dreams, which saves Egypt from a terrible famine, earns him favor and position. Created and written by Amaya Muruzábal, this series based on true facts is set in 1846 and follows the Saint Patrick’s Battalion during the U.S.–Mexico War, when a group of Irish immigrants enlisted in the Texas Rangers deserted the U.S. army to join the Mexican side. They fought until their final stand at San Ángel, when they were captured and sentenced to death. Julian de Tavira who helmed Hernan and Like Water for Chocolate will be directing.

Netflix has released a teaser with Eric Bana and Sam Neill as leads in  their new mini series UNTAMED which arrives July 17th.  Eric Bana plays Kyle Turner, a special agent for the National Parks Service who works to enforce human law in nature’s vast wilderness. The investigation of a brutal death sends Turner on a collisioncourse with the dark secrets within the park, and in his own past. Neill will play Paul Souter who has been the chief park ranger in Yosemite for half his life. He’s a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend to Turner. He’s comfortable in all facets of his job, whether it’s dealing with crime inside the park or with the bureaucracy around it. Rosemarie DeWitt will play Turner's ex wife, with Wilson Bethel as Shane Maguire, a former army ranger, who now uses his skills as the park’s Wildlife Management Officer. Maguire’s a loner, preferring to live by himself in the wilderness where it’s easier to follow his own rules.

 THE STORY

BBC and PBS are set to do a follow up series to their Miss Austen titled MISS AUSTEN RETURNS based on Gill Hornby's The Elopement novel. Keeley Hawes will probably return as Cassandra, Jane's sister in  the true story that happens later on from Miss Austen, around the 1820s, and within a wing of the family that involves Cassandra, as Deadline writes. But the past-tense years that the series will focus on will be ones that were highly creative for Jane when her novels were actually being published. Cassandra is carrying the flame in the present-tense part, and rather than burning letters and looking after Jane’s privacy as in the first series, this will be about an interpretation of Jane’s meaning and value.

Titled QUASIMODO and directed by Jean-Francois Richet, it will be set in Paris on the eve of the July Revolution (1830), and will try to reimagine the life of the man said to have inspired Victor Hugo’s iconic character, Quasimodo. As the cholera epidemic spreads through the city, he’s caught between political turmoil and an impossible love. The shooting will start this summer.

Channel 5 has turned Parnell Hall's twenty book series The Puzzle Lady Mysteries into MURDER MOST PUZZLING  cosy mystery TV series with Downton Abbey's Phyllis Logan as the lead and June 19th start date. The story will begin with a strange murder that shakes the sleepy market town of Bakerbury. The local police are baffled by a crossword puzzle left on the body. With their case goingnowhere, they turn reluctantly to Cora Felton [Logan], a recent arrival in Bakerbury who has a certain level of "fame" as the so-called "Puzzle Lady", which gives hope to the detectives that she might be able to crack the first ever murder to take place in their quiet hometown. But  the eccentric Cora isn’t who she claims to be, and as she throws herself into a murder case that has the town’s residents baffled, she starts to gather allies and enemies in equal measure.
